I'm wondering if this belongs in Unforgivable Sins of UI Design instead, but yikes all the same.

Not really apropos of anything, but this came up on my everyday playlist and it just made me pause somehow. Still a good track from a game I stank at.

So, I often hit this thread when the kids ask for cat videos. Sure, we could just go to youtube, but I appreciate something more curated here. I just never expected it to drive Kiddo 02 to create art. https://brontosin.space/system/media_attachments/files/112/364/019/121/466/906/original/aa8ad12a90a...

Re: Trump Leaving Office Poll (Part 2)
I guess "originalist" in the sense of going back to originally being the colony of a monarchy, I guess. I heard the radio talking about this and thought something along the lines of "if the president really is immune from this kind of thing, why not just make him king? Why did we even...

"I'm gonna be a good little 21st century boy and bike to the grocery store instead of drive, on this 25th day of April. The weather's usually great this time of year!" (it's overcast in sunny ol' Long Beach) (oh my, is that a spot of rain? Like, just enough to make it really annoying to we...

Re: What about a thread for good news?
Apparently California met several weeks of power needs with 100% solar? Like 30 out of 38 days? There seems to be a lot of caveats in there- like this being before the real high-demand summer months- but that sure sounds like good news to me!

As I understand it, Ford sold about 63,000 Edsels in its first year, and those weren't exactly popular. And a game developer I follow on Mastodon claims "lmao Tesla has sold fewer cybertrucks than I've sold copies of MidBoss"

Re: Fucking Cell Phones
My phone is in pretty rough shape, and the battery might be getting spicy. I should buy another one, but I really hate shopping for them. May as well gripe/beg here since Reddit is such a letdown. Everyone in my house was using a Galaxy S8 Active before those started going bad. We're all a little cl...

Not sure if I linked or mentioned it before, but I like Worf's emails
Like, I don't even watch the show and I can't help but read it in his voice
Roxanne,
It appears you have addressed this to me in error. You probably meant to email wriker@enterprise.uss
I will be discrete.

Re: GOP Will Shit Itself
I've had discussions with (former) friends about freedom of religion and if they agreed with it. "You're free to practice Christianity, because this is a Christian nation. If you want to practice some other religion, there are other countries." "So freedom of religion, to you, means ...

Oh hey, Ronna Romney McDaniel's already been fired from NBC . How long was she there? Like two days? That's only 0.14 Scaramuccis! But really, how fucked up was it that she was even hired in the first place? Like, you could hire me to spout absolute nonsense and give crappy interviews for far less t...

This gave me a chuckle more than anything: Authors of the "WPATH Files" upset over "suspiciously" happy trans people.

I knew those emergency door release "solutions" were a death trap waiting to happen, but that's fucking grim. And that seems like a rather high-profile fatality, which makes me wonder what kind of impact it might have.

Huh, Ugandan women find a way to turn food waste into charcoal, helping save rainforests that are otherwise ravaged by logging? I love a good "garbage in, greatness out" story!

Oh yeah, I used to get divebombed by the little bastards regularly. Like, I'd be walking to the front door and a tiny Stuka would angrily squeak past my head. You'd see them diving at and chasing each other, too. I always chalked it up to having such a short lifespan; two years isn't a lot of time t...

Is that, like, two beers per person? Because with me it'd be like one for me and three for you, and I'm not sure if you're okay with that.
And I'll try my best with your puppy. I dunno, I don't have anything against puppies, I just have trouble managing small hyperactive beings.

Huh, nobody has seen humpback whales mating until 2022? And the first photographed encounter was between two males?
