Re: Hot game deals

I'd assumed they were being looked after from the infinite Fortnite money pool, has anyone spoken out about the developer experience of this event?

Re: Hot game deals

I'm kinda liking how the low-grade r/gaming hate undercurrent is pressuring Epic to give me all this random free crap.

Re: Computerus

I'm going to need to move to some Linux or other when Win7 support shuts down next year, and your recent escapades as a veteran user are giving me the Fear. Is there a release that's unlikely to do these things to me?

I have never touched PoE purely because it has a million players and requires unique character names. I can't even with that.

Re: Hot Tweets Cool Treats

Wait, do we want everyone being edited by a single robo-secretary that normalises all email into a single voice? I gotta wonder how this forum would look after a pass through that filter.

Red Green Holodecks: Abuses of VR tech

I have just discovered that Maker faires are starting to bring back Robot Wars, but from a first person perspective with spider mechs kicking their way through matchbox car cities. Now all we need is a drug that accelerates the contestant's brains to make everything feel suitably slow and weighty. h...

I just wish it was because people realised they were evil, and not a protest vote against them failing to fuck up the country fast enough.

I'm thinking maybe some of these super rational far right new atheists might just be Christians going through an 'angry at God' phase.

He did also get to cash out before writing the actual book, so if he dies now that's everyone else's problem.

Re: Avengers: End Gays (Spoilers)

I wonder how the ontological questions work themselves out in the years after this. Basically everyone or their loved ones had the profoundly psychedelic experience of death and resurrection at the same moment in galactic history. All future calendars will treat this as year zero and the introspecti...

Re: General Old Game Hardware Thread

The newest bittboy is $40 and can play a lot of emulators. Everything I've seen says it's very good, especially for the price. Saves seem like a bit of a sticking point, in that it doesn't emulate cartridge battery saves in any way and the snapshot save system built into the device has a habit of l...

Literal tea spit-take. I assume someone long term has compiled a 'Best of Friday' in fanzine format, where should I look for that?

https://www.buzzfeed.com/sydrobinson1/abortion-ban-tweets All of the above, plus endless protests outside planned parenthood clinics that don't even perform abortion, but not a murmur against IVF clinics with their millions of medical waste embryos. Funny how the religious side of debates never argu...

This looks like a bottomless rabbit hole, but as a general question: If I just want a convenient pocket device to play old Enix games is GBA + sd cart + battery upgrade the best overall option, or should normals stick with Android phone + controller?

You can disable certification until this is fixed, using a developer version and setting xpinstall.signatures.required to false. Nice user hostile design though.
