Re: (SPOILERS) Infinity War and Beyond (Marvel Thread)

I can't find where it was but whoever brought up the theory that the snap split the universe in two, with each group existing in a universe A and a doomed universe B... I love that idea. It'll absolutely never happen, but man, that would be great.

Re: and Dead Tree Comics

Man... Saga is still good, still consistently surprising and gorgeous and creative, it's just... it's got that comic book problem where the more you see of any character, the more certain it is something horrible will happen to them. Which it does, usually in as tragic a way as possible, until they'...

Re: and Dead Tree Comics

Also been picking up the new Venom run, which feels like it was made specifically for me: someone who read every single one of Venom's short-lived solo series back when he was a teenager, lost track of the character over the course of the following disparate one-shots (where his character fluctuate...

Holy shit! Never dared hope Amazon wouldn't get to install themselves tax-free.

Genuinely delighted.

Re: The Star Trek Thread

Okay Episode 4 of Season 2 was fantastic.

Reno immediately fits into engineering perfectly, to the point where it feels like we've been missing one third of the dynamic up until now. I love her and she is perfect.

Re: Doctor Who

I must've mis-spoke, I agree in that I think Graham and Ryan's relationship is the highlight of the season. I adored watching those two characters interact. Kinda sucks to say that the old straight white guy is the best character of the season, but, he is. I love him. Ryan is good, but never really ...

Re: Chicks Dig Giant Robots

Watched Bumblebee on a friend's media server. It's definitely the most watchable of the live-action Transformers movies. The first two minutes are what everyone wanted the original Transformers movie to be, with classic-form transformers battling on Cybertron. It rules. Then they get to Earth and it...

Re: The Star Trek Thread

Season 1 spoilers. Every time we get a scene featuring Voq, it’s fun to look back on his character arc and bask in how exquisitely he has fucked up every single thing he’s ever been involved in. Guy was born an albino, which forced him to grow up enduring racist mockery from his own people and his ...

Re: The Star Trek Thread

New season is... a lot like the first, so far. First episode was a solid but unmemorable action slog full of weird gags and chase sequences. Pike seems good, I love love love Reno (Tig Notaro is absolutely amazing). Everyone else is unchanged. Basically dislike the entire story arc they're going for...

Re: Doctor Who

It's okay. I stopped after a few episodes. The cast is great this time around, there just isn't any real story or character stuff that grabbed me. This season's very episodic and monster-of-the-weekey, which, while I know that's kinda Doctor Who's MO... I don't think that's what I like about Doctor ...

Re: Podcasts where it isn't stand up comedians talking and talking (and talking)

Weird request: Anyone know of some Mom Friendly podcasts? Certain things are too upsetting, like current events, but she really likes history. I've been looking around, but vetting so many hours of content isn't really feasible for me. Some non-swearin' women-focused ones on MaxFun I've heard good ...

Ocksi and I are completely enthralled by The Relentless Picnic, a podcast that moves between philosophy and history, with little asides here and there. It's excellent.

Re: Xanathar’s Guide to Cleavin’ a Goblin Clean in Twain (D&D)

Anyone know of any decent tile-based video game map-makers one could use for Roll20 maps?

Been kicking around the idea of using Warcraft II map maker or something, then screencapping it and fitting it to the grid.

Mapmaker.org is decent, but not amazing.

Trump is cutting off FEMA money for California wildfires. "Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forrest fires that, with proper Forest Management, would never happen," Trump tweeted. "Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to...

I legitimately have a good feeling about 2019. Gonna be a year of healing, building, and eating ass.
