Re: HOW WAS YOUR DAY

Tonight I am back from Michigan. We were there for Julie's mom's funeral. Some of these years are just no good at all.

Re: Tabletop & Board Games

Ever since reading some play reports for Sidereal Confluence I have been desperate to actually play the thing, but I don't see much probability of that happening with anybody in my vicinity any time soon. The game might seem intimidating and dry at first glance, but everything I've read suggests tha...

I should go back and finish. I was planning to wait to get Ending E until the DLC came out, but now that it's available I can't afford it...

Man, that all sinks majorly. Wish my PC were functional so I could resume the java version, but I'm glad I never tried to supplement that with another platform version.

The fact that the Earthbind faerie gets to just dust off her hands is delightful. I love this.

Re: Pros and Cons of Punching a Nazi Just Square in the Dick

Meanwhile, Daryl Davis, the black guy who befriended dozens of KKK members and got whole chapters of the Klan to dissolve, hosted an AMA on Reddit . People make the mistake of forming anti-racist groups that are rendered ineffective from the start because ONLY invite those who share their beliefs to...

He passed back in May, apparently! I really appreciate his restraint, as I would have died pretty young had he gone ahead with the launch per protocol.

Re: Barefoot and Pregnant

What TA said, basically. We had a guy on another forum who self-identified as sort of the Platonic Ideal of incels. He could only relate to the world through the lens of anime. Gundam, specifically, on which he was exuberantly well-versed. Between that and the way he had to preface so many of his op...

Re: Hey [%target] Whatcha Playin'?

It's rough to hear about the places where this is a step backwards, because playing Life Is Strange this spring was one of the highlights of my year. I'm glad it's still pretty good, though. Not sure if I'm going to try to get this now, or hold out for the collected episodes a few years from now.

Re: Books

Recentish works I've enjoyed include Robert Jackson Bennett's "American Elsewhere", a small-town cosmological horror/mystery story in the contemporary American south-west, and Ann Leckie's "Ancillary Justice", which is a sci fi revenge tale with an unusual protagonist. The fact t...

Re: Oh shit, what are we gonna do now?

The takes I was reading suggest he went with the democrat plan under the expectation that this would clear the way for tax reform, or at the very least because he was impatient with the debt ceiling and wasn't interested in dwelling on it. Whatever the case, yeah, it definitely muddied the already c...

Mongrel's PM prompted me to inquire up the chain, and LaserBeing and Mothra both claim never to have received this one yet.

Re: Hey [%target] Whatcha Playin'?

I liked Sunless Sea but the big question is, with you saying your PS4 is your main gaming device... am I gonna be able to convince you to get Destiny 2 and shoot nerds with me? I'm guessing I'd need to get PlayStation Plus, too. Pretty much the only things I'll play on the PS4 these days is somethi...

Re: Hey [%target] Whatcha Playin'?

I fried my motherboard a couple months back, so I've pretty much exclusively playing whatever will run on my original-run Surface and my PS4. Since I have a deadline coming up at the end of this month, turn that tendency up to 11. Sunless Sea: Zubmariner : Although I made a thread for Sunless Sea ba...

I can confirm I haven't received the last one I'm waiting on yet. God, we're like a bunch of cats, and we refuse to be herded...

And yeah, I'm impressed with both Mongrel's and Mothra's finished comics! Great work, folks!

Re: Comic Replacement Game 2000 - Execution Phase

Yeah, I've been making this possibly more complicated in PMs than necessary. Here's the list of participants again, resequenced to match the order in which I expected to work on them: 2. Newbie 1. Laserbeing 6. Mothra 5. MarsDragon 4. beatbandito 3. Mongrel What actually happened is that first I mad...

Re: Game musings and news

Yeah, I don't think the Square half of Square Enix has released a port that was anything other than a fresh coat of paint since the DS era. As far as FFXII is concerned, The Zodiac Age (the tweaked version they just released recently) did have some mechanical changes from the International Zodiac J...
