Re: Hey [%target] Whatcha Playin'?

Finally picked up Va-11 Hall-A through the Steam sale yesterday. Man! This game is good! I like mixing drinks, and I like chatting with clients about whether I know what they want more than they do, and I like that you're 'distracted' at work when there's something you wanna buy but couldn't for wha...

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)

I would love to do anything at this point, but I've spent my hammertime, my dynamite, and I've already voted. I do think it's suspicious as hell that Hardly Ideal is gonna let the wire test expire. Everybody needs to talk more.

Re: Hot game deals

If you find yourself listing due to the siren song of the Steam Summer Sale, you may find a corrective antidote in the Steam Calculator.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)

Allow me to correct my earlier statement. I am voting for Hardly Ideal until somebody gets tested. And depending on the circumstances, potentially after that test, as well.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)

Right. For that reason I still think it's good to test people who could potentially be original Thingers, and that's part of why I'm intrigued by Kayma's proposal that we test Sharkey; it sounds pretty important. Important enough to use the wire on, so that we can hear what Kayma has to say afterwar...

Re: Game musings and news

This looks pretty good, but also pretty bare-bones at the moment. Still, there's a lot more polished elements than I'd expect from an alpha.

Man. I feel like Mothra has been keeping a super-low profile.

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)

Among 12 players, 2 were originally things. While that number is now up to 4, one of them—Grath—is now dead, and I don't think we know for sure whether Grath was an original or not. So: 3 of our 11 players are things, and at least one of them has been a thing from the beginning. We are in our third ...

Re: Friday's Top Ten Favorite VG

It's exhausting, and it's the one part of reading liveblogs/watching let's plays that I kind of hate, because all the leading questions and knowing allusions and links to unnecessary fanwankery and inadvertent spoilers is the worst. sheesh just @ me next time When you quote it like that, I see that...

Yeah, that is an exemplary candidate for the archetypal shittier day. Let us know how things go.

Re: Friday's Top Ten Favorite VG

Undertale's fans have kind of the same problem Steven Universe fans have, except moreso, which is that it's not enough for them to share their favorite media with you; they have to make sure you're experiencing it and getting it the way that they do now , which means you can't be allowed to miss any...

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)

If I move my vote to Grath as well, that marks two for Grath, and two for Sharkey. Will it be one of these two we test, or will an unexpected third break away and win the test for themselves? Only the next 24 hours will tell!

(Note that we don't actually have 24 hours remaining.)

Also, in "they really are mining every conceivable IP for the nostalgia buys" news, Beyond Good & Evil 2 has an actual cinematic trailer out. No word yet on a new Bumpy Trot, sadly.

Re: Game musings and news

None of this shit makes any sense if you haven't heard all of the exact same stories as the speaker though. It's just like that episode of Star Trek TNG. You know, the one where Data has a baby with the Holodeck. In fairness, these tweets are pretty widely-known in certain sectors of twitter. It's ...

Man, I thought they learned their lesson with the Weatherlight Saga. The two times I stopped playing Magic coinciding with this kind of storytelling is completely a coincidence, but it feels pretty appropriate.

the Gatewatch Haven't played since Khans block, so I'm pretty out of the loop, but I read MaRo's article. What's the Gatewatch, exactly? Some sort of Avengers-esque planeswalker supergroup? How is this different from whatever Jace was setting up in Return to Ravnica? And apparently they were puttin...

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)

If we always vote for who has the wire today, then it's exceedingly easy for the things to keep turning whoever had the wire yesterday. Not that we should let them off scot free, of course, but I'd like to see a little more dissent this time. I agree that the people who've been previously exonerate...

Re: The Thing: Evolution (Playing Thread)

Grath was the third person to vote for Niku yesterday, and he has the wire today. Do we want to continue voting to test the wire-holder, or do we want to mix things up for day two?
