Re: A Brief History of Brontoforumus

I've been around since like day 3 of the IRC channel, and I still only get half the jokes. The key is to guess when it's safe to smile and nod.

Re: HOW WAS YOUR DAY

I was in an antique shop with my mom today, and in a jumble of overturned wooden things I recognized a vintage hat block!! Marked down to $22. I'd been looking at them online a while ago, so i knew one with the brim would cost ~$150 online. It's even my head size!

Re: HOW WAS YOUR DAY

Our ragey downstairs neighbour who enjoys pounding walls etc. to vent his spleen is having a pound/stomp wall war with some other neighbour adjacent to or below him and it's fucking hilarious. Mongrel, was just listening to this and it made me think of your housing situation. https://www.youtube.co...

Re: In the Land of Wonderful Dreams

I was having a pretty bad dream last night, the only part I can remember clearly is that I really needed to escape, but in front of the car kept appearing old ladies in wheelchairs and kids on bikes. Which is a pretty mean trick.

I bought a silicone mat for forming fondant lace, that I've been too scared to try. If I get it to work, I don't think it would be tooooo much fondant (and if it is, it could be easily peeled off the rest of the icing).

Re: Oh those pet peeves

My workplace is pretty good about reasonable accomodations. But my office is also in a school so if a pack of undergrads dipped in Axe (or whatever the kids wear now) wander in there's nothing much to be done. It really doesn't come up much, though. The last smelly-person moved out of my office to a...

Re: Oh those pet peeves

I've never heard anyone refer to a scent free or free scent environment, though I suppose any public space rotates between the two. I have mentally filed people wearing colognes you can smell several feet away in the same category of inconsiderate nuisance as people who blare their car music so you ...

I just googled that, and no, I am not enough of a hero. Maybe I'll get some kind of essential oil freshener for my office that doesn't set off my allergies.

Re: Oh those pet peeves

Office smells.

What do you do about office smells? You have to work there, you can't escape. But one coworker insists on eating kimchi at her desk, another wears a ton of perfume that sets off your allergies, or else reeks of BO. What can you do?

Highs approaching 90 forecast for the next week. This is Michigan, you guys. Michigan in September.

I hope we get an autumn instead of just mid-summer straight into winter.

What the actual fuck. Still staring open-mouthed at your story, Def.

I once had a customer at GameStop freak out and scribble the $6.66 off her receipt, but yours takes the satan-defying cake. (We laughed in her face and she was offended. We couldn't help it.)

Re: The Shittiest Watercooler/Campfire/TED Stage Ever

My most ridiculous work experiences came from my five years at GameStop. I had great bosses and co workers, but I worked in a mall store and got that kind of customer base. The best/worst one was the time I was minding my own business stocking GBA games, when this dudebro strolled in. He slowly lowe...

Fig jam and brie with apples is one of those things that is significantly greater than a sum of its parts. I don't even like fig jam or brie on their own, but together... :o~ Found out this week that there's a Guatemalan bakery in the next town over. I have nostalgia for pan dulche , dad used to tak...

Just because something is old and white doesn't mean it's obsolete. Look at Shakespeare. Look at me.

Too many hot takes in that article. Friday's right, this is just some bitter pile of venom who hates her feminist daughter and anyone who won't eat deviled eggs.

Can I just say that I covet that blindfold super bad I could make that happen. Unless you happen to be an old friend in disguise though, not for free. But if several people wanted one, it would be cheaper to make, though the eyes would take the same amount of effort. I've been thinking of making my...
