Re: Let's all go to the movies~

I liked Guardians 2, but too many of the jokes felt like overly wink-and-elbow Guardians 1 callbacks to me. Thor 3 definitely felt like it was trying too hard to be funny a few times, but not as much as G2, plus as comic-y as it was, the G2 final battle being so punchy instead of more creative comba...

Blues Brothers is fantastic but it feels more mainstream than 5th. Easy vote for me. This fucking one, though, I might have to sleep on.

Re: Game musings and news

Mario Odyssey is the the most charming game I've played in years. It's gorgeous, whimsical, mechanically fantastic, and has the best post-game of any Mario ever. I liked the part where I was driving a scooter to try and not get eaten by a T-rex while wearing a full pirate outfit. (Also, holy shit, ...

Re: Friday's Favorite Top Ten Movies

It's been said that the landscapes in westerns tell the story just as much as the dialog and acting does. It's one of the great things I love about them, and whenever I see similar techniques in other movies (No Country For Old Men, for example) it always makes me like the movie a lot more. Tons of...

Re: Pros and Cons of Punching a Nazi Just Square in the Dick

Meanwhile, Sunday in Seattle, man goes downtown wearing a straight-up Nazi armband throws a banana at a man, calls him an ape, and just gets absolutely, Batman-to-Guy-Gardner ruined. Police arrive a few minutes later, he takes off his armband and leaves without providing any information.

Didn't see a published obituary yet, but heard Basil Gogos passed today. Link is to a Google Image search for a bunch of his amazing monster art.

Re: Pros and Cons of Punching a Nazi Just Square in the Dick

There was the Heathen Front who used it straight-up. Didn't think they made it across the pond, so it may just be a strong coincidence and not a direct relation, though. Especially as they were anti-Christian, which obviously would have some trouble taking off in large swaths of American White natio...

I'm sure a lot of you have seen this around today, but The Texas Tribune and ProPublica published a pretty amazing long article last year about all of the bullshit that is contributing to how bad the current flooding is. Spoiler: You will really, really want to punch Mike Talbott, the former directo...

In a vacuum I would've used my Batman vote on probably Willy Wonka, but facilitating the start of the DCAU gives it way too many bonus points to vote any other way.
