Re: X-Men
Also, the show continues to handle some pretty heavy issues. I admit to tearing up a little at Maddy's speech about giving up her baby because she owes him the best possible future . Punched me right in the adoptive-parent center. On the lighter side, I'm enjoying how they're using Morph as a wa...

Re: Obituaries
Also extremely gay, though I don't think his loathing of LGBT+ had anything to do with his loathing of video games. It's just something else he would disapprove of. I hate to be in the position of defending the guy, but about the only positive thing I have to say about him is that he was progressiv...

You know, as attractive as both those options are, I think I'll go with the Doom thing.

Joseph Lieberman, senator and vice presidential nominee, dies at 82
He died the way he lived: scolding Democrats for not being more like Republicans.
Maybe after work I'll play some Doom in his honor.

And episode 3 brings us another returning cast member, Chris Britton as Mr. Sinister.
I particularly like the bit where Cyclops is like "Sinister." and Sunspot's like "Mr. Sinister?" even though nobody said the "Mr." part.

The Future of ‘Star Trek’: From ‘Starfleet Academy’ to New Movies and Michelle Yeoh, How the 58-Year-Old Franchise Is Planning for the Next Generation of Fans I like hearing that Starfleet Academy is going to be set post-Discovery. Always nice to see Trek looking forward instead of backward (though...

I still have a handful of programs I occasionally need but which won't run on Linux. I have a couple Windows laptops but they're old and slow and won't run Windows 11. I tried setting up Win11 in a VM on my main and I think I could probably make it work if I bought more RAM and dedicated 40GB or so ...

Helen of Wyndhorn is Tom King and Bilquis Evely's creator-owned followup to their excellent Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (soon to be a major motion picture! or possibly be completed and then have its release canceled as a tax writeoff!) and it's off to a strong start. It's got a similar conceit -- a...

#2 has some nice character moments. There's a good bit where Wilykit and Wilykat discuss how Lion-O is treating them differently now. I'd say that was definitely in the background in TOS -- that even though Lion-O's physically older than they are they still have more experience and a part to play in...

Who Killed Nessie? by Paul Cornell & Rachael Smith Every year, legendary creatures from all over the world gather for an annual convention. But never has there been a murder. Who Killed Nessie?, a new graphic novel by Paul Cornell, the award-winning comics writer, and Rachael Smith, the award-w...

David Lat has a piece called Clerking For Judge Cannon: A Behind-The-Scenes Look and it makes for an interesting read. The clerks (and others) Lat talked to paint a picture of Cannon as not stupid but green as hell, and not in the tank for Trump but biased by her background as an appellate AUSA and ...

I was looking at Tracy Torme's credits on IMDb and learned that he died in January at the age of 64, of complications from diabetes.
He doesn't have a lot of credits this century, but he co-created Sliders and wrote for TNG.
Also I think his dad was like a musician or something.

How Comics Were Made is approaching its end (65 hours to go as of this writing) and hasn't quite reached its goal yet (about $20,000 short as of this writing). It looks like an interesting history of the printing process. $25 will get you a PDF and $65 (plus shipping) will get you a paperback.

Re: Hot game deals
Fanatical's got a deal on for 17% off any full-price game with code FANATICAL17. So about $10 off $60. I was tempted to either snag Horizon Forbidden West or preorder Ghost of Tsushima, but Sony games usually get discounts deeper than that within 6 months of (PC) release, so I'll probably just wait ...

He'll get the money back and will continue to hold his properties, when before that judge's decision he was liable to actually start facing consequences. Now he'll just pay that bond with other people's money like he always has. How many court dates get near only to then be pushed back by a month, ...

I wonder if they tweaked the difficulty on CT or I'm just overleveled, because I've breezed through a couple of early bosses I remember being pretty tough (the Guardian and Masa/Mune).
Re: X-Men
Oh, so the credits don't list voice actors by character? They do (and unlike the credits in the vast majority of streaming cartoons, you can actually pause them and read the names, without hitting a "skip to the next episode?" prompt right at the moment they come up, or having a gradient ...
