I don't think they even supported it on the Intel Macs for the last decade or so, but I guess stranger things have happened.

Re: Truthiness! (Onion, Clickhole, etc.)
The Onion Sold to Founder of Twilio, Who Taps Ex-NBC News Reporter Ben Collins to Lead Satire Site as CEO This...seems good? It seems like the new owners are competent businesspeople who actually like and understand the Onion? That's no guarantee of success, of course, but it at least seems like a ...

Re: Friday's Favorite 100 Longform Video Media
I would never accuse Home Improvement of biting, sophisticated satire, but the central joke that the guy who's obsessed with performative displays of masculinity is less manly than the guy who's quietly competent and doesn't have anything to prove is a perfectly good joke.

Re: DC Animation
And I am done with my rewatch of Batman and Superman and on to Batman Beyond. Man, it is wild that Superman ends the way it does. Superman disgraced, the public's faith in him shaken, and that's just it . And AFAIK they didn't have any idea they'd ever get a chance to follow it up, though they event...

Nah, that's me clarifying that I, too, am a lot more upset than my tone might have suggested.

Re: Trump Leaving Office Poll (Part 2)
Fascinating to see how the constitutional "originalists" are now contemplating whether the president is actually a king It's fucking stomach-churning is what it is. It's not surprising , but just because it's about what I expected doesn't make it any less grotesque. This might be a good d...

Re: Thundercats
#1 is fine. Retells the story of the first episode with a couple of retcons that make the timeline somehow make even less sense By issue #3 it's clear that this is intentional. The Thundercats think they've been in suspension for at least a decade, hence Lion-O's aging, but Slithe referred to his l...

Re: Trump Leaving Office Poll (Part 2)
Generally a good idea to take oral arguments with a grain of salt, but it's looking like the conservatives on the SCOTUS are congealing around some kind of "Well no obviously the president doesn't have total immunity but he has some immunity and we're not going to decide whether or not he's imm...

Japan-Exclusive Demo for Mega Man Legends 2 Receives English Translation
They call it a demo but at a glance it looks to be a unique, standalone series of short missions.

Re: What about a thread for good news?
I'm all for challenging the authority of the Supreme Court, but there are some pretty significant differences between Andrew Jackson ignoring a Supreme Court ruling against invading tribal lands and a guy who works at a sandwich shop ignoring a Supreme Court ruling about the legal enforceability of ...

Issue #3 brought out my inner CBG on page 1 by saying "Thundrainium" when they clearly meant Thundrilium , but then won me back with a pretty specific callback to the interior of the Book of Omens. Also, it turns out Snarf does exist! And this version's way of making him less annoying is.....

Re: Friday's Favorite 100 Longform Video Media
Though OTOH -- and a key reason I compare it to Family Guy -- a whole lot of its humor is just shock-value stuff , like jokes that think they're provocative but are really just racist. When it was on, though, it was on , like the bit in "America the Beautiful" where they skewer idealized 1...
Re: X-Men
Caught up with X-Men 97, and what a success the show it. It perfectly captures the original show's ability to capture the current state of the X-Men at the time (those Blue and Gold team costumes and lineup) while adapting classic X-Men storylines rather faithfully for a kid's TV show. Only now the...

All of that is true of pre-revival Family Guy. Post-revival Seth MacFarlane is out from the writing team, only returning to do the voices. The writing team lost the majority of its talent right then, and the remaining team felt like they had Protection vs. Editors, so now you get references and thr...

Is the Arm version of Windows ready for its close-up? tl;dr Maybe. It sounds like MS has made some real progress with x86-to-ARM translation. Slack and Discord run OK on the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3/Microsoft SQ3, and they'll run better on the X Elite. A lot of games just work, and Qualcomm seems confi...

Re: Friday's Favorite 100 Longform Video Media
It occasionally manages heart and satirical bite. Rarely, and probably not often enough to be worth the other stuff, which is why I haven't watched it in a decade or so. But it's had the occasional flash where it wasn't just funny but actually had something to say.
