Re: Things That Go in Your Mouth

If you have a copy of Joy of Cooking, the Apple Walnut muffin recipe is super, the batter freezes really well, and the recipe takes well to substituting in some whole wheat flour.

If you don't have a copy of Joy of Cooking, go buy one. It's the only cookbook I trust.

Neither, more supernatural like Buffy. Fight some demons and magical creatures, then make a souffle.

Re: In the Land of Wonderful Dreams

I had sort of a similar dream to Mongrel, except while the mall was packed all the stores were closed, and I was anxious about how close I was getting to everyone. Then at some point I realized I was dreaming and I always get writers' block when that happens so was all "flying, I guess?" b...

Re: "Coronavirus" is the category, dangit. (COVID-19 thread)

I'm trying to figure out how to handle event planning in all this, when I just don't know day to day whether our speakers will decide to fly out or whether the whole dang university is going to decide to shut down like all the others have. In the meanwhile, is it safe to offer reception food? I'm pl...

Re: Lefthanded Video Games

When I lost use of my right hand to tendonitis for several months in college, I played my friends at Bust a Groove 2, jumping my left hand back and forth between the D pad and the face buttons. This wasn't a good idea so much as sheer determination.

Re: In the Land of Wonderful Dreams

I finally dreamed up the solution to all our event scheduling problems. I just need to reschedule the event to last week, then there won't be any conflicts because everybody else's events last week already happened, and mine will be the only new one

This made a lot more sense before I woke up.

Re: HOW WAS YOUR DAY

Last time I fragged my shoulder in my sleep (I did it wrangling my heavy down comforter) I got my doctor to send me to physical therapy and we fixed all sorts of posture and weakness issues. I highly recommend physical therapy for fixing unreasonable bodies.

Re: HOW WAS YOUR DAY

We had a snowstorm yesterday, something in the neighborhood of 6" - 8" in one day. I left work and waited for the bus. Peering down the street, I saw that it was stuck in the snow. Walking home, I checked the transit center for my next bus, which wasn't there. Further along, I saw it also ...
