Re: The Star Trek Thread
Liked the time-travel episode a lot. I'm not so sure about this Kirk, but he was (again) playing an alternate-timeline version, so that works as an excuse, at least. He was a lot of fun, he just didn't seem very much like Kirk. (Well, Shatner Kirk. He definitely had a Pine Kirk thing going on.) I d...

Re: The Star Trek Thread
M'Benga's fight juice was VERY bizarre and like, it didn't ruin anything but it was a pretty dumb idea to write into the ep! But yeah otherwise, great ep. I was talking to my brother the other day about how Strange New Worlds has like, the worst possible premise: a prequel series to TOS with yet mor...

Re: Animotion and Car Tunes
I'm overall enjoying the new Clone High quite a bit. Agree that the three Niku mentioned are the best ones, but honestly, overall, it gets everything right that the O.G. did, modernizes it pretty well, and I like the new characters. Really hope it gets another season.

Re: It's Machine Learning, yo
Ugh, had an irritating interaction at work. My company, famously startup-brained, decided to hire a guy to "make AI happen" at my company. This guy, from MIT, declared himself "Director of AI" and started making a chatbot for our site, powered by Copilot. Now, my team creates tra...

Re: TV Series On The Television
From is completely hypnotic. Every character is bad. Nothing is ever answered. The very premise sucks.
I love watching it! I don't get it!

Re: (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ Animes
Seconding this, it's a pretty insane premise, and it's animated well. I like it a lot. Fucking brain-swapping is dropped into this like it's nothing. Kinda feel like it's actually been good about gender in a lot of ways? The main pairing is between two guys (one now in the body of a woman), and it's...
Re: X-Files
I love that you found this as fucking insane and uproariously funny as we did. I don't think it was intentional but like... I dunno, is it possible to make something like this by accident?
Wild ep. Perfect end to the show.

If all live events are canon, are the live-action Ninja Turtles an idol band? Please explain your answer.

Watched the TOS ep "A Taste of Armageddon" for the first time, it's a great one.
I did get a laugh out of this plot device, though.

Re: The Star Trek Thread
Good article on why some of the Jack Crusher stuff in relation to Jean Luc really clanged. Felt like such a dumb, tired idea that can be dropped into any show for drama.

My beloved B5 sees live once again.
Animated movie wasn't what I was expected, could be terrible, but I'm gonna get my hopes way up for this.

Re: The Star Trek Thread
Man, we're so far from having the Babylon 5 formula of doing an episodic story that resolves and pays off, while also inching the larger story arc forward. I'd kill for any of these NuTrek shows, SWN aside, to set something up and pay it off within an episode. Just isn't done. The Jack Crusher teasi...
