WEATHER II: Hell on Earth
Re: Weather
I wear long sleeves and pants in every weather. I just hate wearing short sleeves and shorts - I can't do it, even on 100+ days.
I'm looking forward to being able to wear my collection of hoodies and jackets again.

Re: Weather
I pretty much always wear short sleeves and long pants, in both the coldest and hottest weather.
Re: Weather
One of the professors at my alma mater would always wear shorts. Even in -40 degree (-40, for you Celsius folks) weather. He doesn't wear long pants to the extent that he had to borrow a pair of pants to wear to my sister's wedding.

Somehow though, when you put it into Celsius it seems less impressive.
Re: Weather
If your hands, feet, and head are properly covered, and your core's insulated, your arms and legs don't really vent enough heat to worry about unless it's frostbite cold.

Re: Weather
Yeah pretty much. When it's -20 out or whatever I'm not out there in JUST a t-shirt anyway. I have a coat on. Maybe a sweater too, if it's really cold.
Re: Weather
I don't understand how people wear sweaters during Southern California summers.
what the fuck is wrong with you people

Re: Weather
They're the same people who say that California's weathers aren't too warm.
You know, while their state is literally the fire level of the US.

Re: Weather
At this point isn't California's fire level pretty much just: "Yes"?

Re: Weather
No no, California has two seasons: wildfire and mudslide.

Re: Weather
I would comment, but the nearest hill here spontaneously burst into flames last Friday.
Re: Weather
I'm pretty sure if you mix the two you get a cocktail.

Re: Weather
So how long before, like all earthly paradises, California goes the way of Mesopotamia?
Re: Weather
So you're saying I should stop looking in Caliofornia for places to move, as I would only make the fire worse? Or is the fire there already so bad, I cna't make it worse?

Re: Weather
The mere act of googling "California" starts a fire in the Sierra Nevada.

Re: Weather
Oh look a severe thunderstorm and flash flood warning.
I guess it's wildfire AND mudslide season.

Re: Weather
Oh good, strong chance of localized flooding.
Tomorrow morning I AM going to check my E-Mail before I come in to work.

It seems late in the year for that, since a forest on fire that's inexorably sliding directly at your peaceful suburb is clearly summer blockbuster action movie material.
Re: Weather
Somehow we're getting rain and hail at the same time.
