Re: A Holiday Appears!
I went to a grownups story time event, and a woman read us a book about monster farts.
Re: A Holiday Appears!
i rewatched the 2009 friday the 13th remake which i will contend that despite being filmed too dark and full of more modern dipshits than the charming 80s dipshits is still pretty much the single best ft13th movie that doesn't have magnetic nipples
like it's basically the movie equivalent of someone ADGQing the entire ft13 franchise

I never saw that one but I saw the sequel. Which was also filmed too dark, especially since I saw it at a drive-in at really couldn't see shit.
Had some good satirical bits. Weird Al bawling out Malcolm McDowell on a talk show was good. And I like the detail that the leads dress as the cast of Rocky Horror and their costume choice telegraphs who's going to live and who's going to die.
ETA Whoops, that's not a Friday the 13th movie. I was thinking of Rob Zombie's Halloween.

I've heard that Never Hike Alone is a pretty good F13 fan film. And that the sequel that just dropped is actually up there with the first actual F13.

Give us your spoopiest scares!
It's grimly funny how these are now all fairly tame concerns relative to *waves hands in general direction of everything*

While that image fills me with joy incomprehensible to mortal minds, sadly, Thanksgiving fell long ago to the onslaught of Capitalmas.
Mark my words, it is only a matter of time before Mariah Carey also vanquishes Halloween, and then in short order it will be Capitalmas year round, in order to increase sales and milk the very last drops of wealth from the proletariat before the fascist psychopath idiots that rule us fire the nukes at each other.

That attitude is becoming mainstream enough that I'm wondering if it's actually going to hit a critical mass in the next few years.
Not that we would uncapitalize Christmas, hahahah of course not. But, like, push it back some, at least into December let they be eaten alive by rabid Gen Z cannibals.
I'm also enjoying how Mariah Carey has become the avatar of The Inescapable Doom of Christmas.

Re: A Holiday Appears!
I know study after study has linked Mariah Carey on loop and tacky snowmen blow ups to increased spending in stores, which is why Capitalmas is what it is, but I wouldn't be surprised if that data is tied to Boomers and Millennials. Zoomers are a different beast who grew up in different times. For Boomers, Christmas is a sacred happy magical time and Millennials got the tail end of that. Zoomers grew up in a time where it was very, very obvious that Christmas had been made Capitalism's bitch and told to wear skimpier clothing to attract more johns. Combine that with significantly reduced give a shit about Jesus-ness, and you might find out that Zoomers actually spend less if they're hearing Mariah for the seventh time in the last hour and staring into the dead eyes of a cheap reindeer display.
I'm kidding, of course. They spend less because they don't have any money to begin with.

Skeletor isn't a skeleton in a muscle-guy suit.
Skeletor was a buff-ass human sorcerer who melted his face off with a magic mishap. I don't think there's any word on what happened to the viscera in his abdomen but presumably they're still there doing their jobs.

Mariame Kaba, who goes by prison culture on social media, posted a link to Target gift registry for the children of inmates in the Cooks County jail in Illinois, for anyone looking to give this season

Wife is pissed because I've been giving her birds for the last 11 days and things have gotten out of hand. But I know she's gonna love today's gift: 12 guys doing a drum jam in the living room
And more birds
