Right, exactly. "I think" is an extremely useful qualifier. It entirely changes the tone of a statement.

And in an ocean of people who state their opinions and beliefs as if they were facts, it's nice to have some way of finding the people who know better.

I use "it seems" a lot for similar reasons.

I tend to deal in probabilities rather than certainties. Sometimes a probability is so high that it's maybe functionally a certainty for all intents and purposes. But you never quite know.

As I understand it, there's a sentence opening I tend to overuse when I don't want to talk in absolutes.

I have the California Accent which includes saying "like" on average 400 times per second, but jesus christ some girls i overhear talking in restaurants and such are so fucking bad it makes me become an insane rage machine that devours all life which doesn't really change anything so

Friday can we skype. o_o (Also I guess I'm okay sharing you with Yangus.)

I was told somewhere (perhaps in a professional development class?) that uncertainty qualifiers are a typically feminine turn of phrase. I just do it to avoid sounding harsh or bossy. I've heard myself saying "perhaps" even when I was completely sure.

I don't sound like a valley girl, if that's what you're expecting. I know people who do, though. The surfer accent (dude, bro, whoaaaaaa) is also pretty rare. Halo jocks say dude and bro a lot but it's clipped and short. I think the whole valley girl/surfer dude accent was just a little micro-thing that got blown way out of proportion, like most stereotypes.

ok another pet peeve

people posting product design concepts like they were actually grounded in any form of reality just because they were well-drawn

instead of what amounts to a cross of 'wouldn't it be nice if' and actual unicorn fart energy

I RAN THE NUMBERS THAT GRAVITY POWERED LAMP SHOULD LAST FIFTEEN MINUTES FOR A TWENTY KILOGRAM WEIGHT

Okay I own exactly one pair of boxer shorts, and to this day it baffles me what the point of the open fly is supposed to do except constantly let your gigantic dick flop out the front when it's too hot to wear pants around the apartment. Nobody's enough of a weirdo to stick their johnson through the fly to take a piss, so, ???

Do you put your dick through the fly to take a leak? That just seems way, way more annoying than just bending down the waistband and pissing like a civilized human being.

Get cloth boxers, they have a button over the fly.

Or upgrade to boxer briefs, its the comfort of leg coverage and the support you didn't know you needed.

I'm still baffled that you would use the fly hole thing instead of just bending down the waistband. Even if you're wearing pants, yeah, you would undo your belt and pull out your dick instead of manuvering it through TWO flys and possibly getting piss on your pants afterward since it's just jutting out.

I mean as an adult, with years of practice, I can piss without pissing on myself, bro. Also like, at a urinal or something, I gotta have max dick coverage because I'm shy, and this basically bleeds into my life at home too. Like, even if I'm the only person home I can't piss with the door opened in the bathroom, even if my back is to the door.

Wait.

I'm gonna undo my belt, unbutton my button, pull down my zipper, pull down the waistband of my pants and the elastic waistband of my boxers, and then take my cock out, just to piss? When I could just perform steps 3 and 5?

I mean, I get not liking boxers without a button on the fly, for the wearing-them-around-the-house situation you mention. But it sounds like you're making trips to the bathroom needlessly complicated.

(I mean, I could see doing it if I wore briefs. Those weird, pinchy little flap flies are worse than just pulling the things down.)

It seems there are more logistics to peeing while standing than I ever considered before.
