Pets!

Dog gets stuck in creek bed in the woods across from my parents house, can't get out because of the snow.

I go out to get him, he gets scared, finds his way out, and runs back to the house to bark at me.

Okay.

Last week, Bird really enjoyed playing with a cardboard tube. So I figured "Okay, I'll leave it in his cage and he can shred it while I'm at work"

I come back home, open the door to my room, and the cage is empty. Door to the cage is closed. I pause and then say "...Bird? Are you there?" The cardboard tube lying on the bottom of the cage then snaked its way over to the side that I was on. I then noticed there was two legs and a butt sticking out of one end of the tube slightly. I have no idea what to think anymore if he's smart enough to sneak into my pockets to get precious treasure but not smart enough to rip up the tube to escape.

Maybe he doesn't want to break his new toy.

I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how bird toys work

I was driving around this past weekend, and I stop the car and look behind me to this ridiculous mess of a sight.Image

No poodle, you don't sit like that in a car!

Dog got into some birdseed.

We didn't know that at first. We initially assumed the reason she was suddenly having diarrhea in the middle of the sidewalk at the park was the miniature container of Vaseline which she had also eaten.

I don't carry plastic baggies at the park, because there are plastic baggie dispensers at the park. So I took off to find the nearest one. Stumbled around for awhile in the dark not finding it. Eventually found it, and it was empty. No baggies!

By this point I'm like 75% of the way home anyway, so I just come home and grab some baggies and also some gloves while I'm at it because hey, gloves. (I think about grabbing the hand shovel I use to clean up after her at home but ultimately decide not to; handling dog shit is unpleasant even through two layers of plastic, but not as unpleasant as carrying a hand shovel around the park with shit stuck to it.)

Took so long that by the time I started coming back my wife had actually turned around and started coming after me to see what had happened to me.

Do I even need to tell you that we discovered, shortly after, that there had actually been another, well-stocked baggie dispenser about 100 feet away from where she'd shit in the first place?

Anyway, she's in the backyard now. Last I checked she was still shitting birdseed. I sure hope she's done by the time we bring her back in the house.

My puppy is losing his baby teeth. Whenever one falls out, he starts eating it. Not just swallowing it, straight up chewing on it and eating it.

This freaks me out so much.

Maybe it's like teething? Get him a rope or something to gnaw on.

Oh, he's definitely teething, and a rope was one of the first things we got for him.

He's just... eating his teeth. He's breaking them apart with the teeth that are still attached to his head.

Also, in order to make his ears pointy and stand-up, we taped tampons into them.

He may have a calcium deficiency. Or maybe he just thinks teeth are tasty!

Dogs are idiots. If I came into your house and started sniffing at your crotch and slobbering all over your face, what would you say?

Puppy just came back from the vet's. Here's the damage:

(-2) Rocky Mountain Oysters
(-3) baby teeth
(+1) tracking chip
(+1) rabies vaccine

... he's not feeling particularly well.

I have never seen a dog so morose in all my life.

Give her lots of cuddles.

Vaccinations provoke an autoimmune response, so he might just be feeling bad from that.

But yes, the prescription is lots of cuddles.
