You're tellin' me!

That video sounds like raid instructions from one of the officers in my old WoW guild.

So maybe there's something to this whole "save the last of your cake for a year and then eat it" thing.
I mean, as sense-memory and nostalgia go, desserts are pretty fucking high on the list.
And as it turns out, cake that's been in a freezer for a year is actually still pretty good. Really moist, retained a surprising amount of its flavor, no freezer-burn taste to speak of.
And we had enough goddamn cake on our wedding day and the days that followed. One more wedge at the time would have been excessive. Eating it now, we can enjoy it properly.

Recipe suggestion solicitation time.
We have a fuckton of celery someone left behind. Also a fair amount of mushrooms. Thinking of getting some chicken (probably thighs. mmmm dark meat) and... peanuts/cashews and bok choy? Stir fry? Any ideas?
Important notes: Stove is a shitty low powered electric. Our wok sucks (well, maybe it's just the stove).

Stir fries always work, but also soup might be a good idea for a weak stove.

Re: Things That Go in Your Mouth
Classic chicken soup is an old standard around here and was an idea we discussed, but it would use maybe a third of this celery, at most.
Re: Things That Go in Your Mouth
So use more.

do you know where that radioactive landfill is that they were trying to make sure that people would keep the fuck out for 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years or so
put the celery in there
and all other celery too

niku if you don't eat your vegetables you won't grow up big and strong
speaking of terrible dietary choices: I just fried up, like, 10 pounds of fucking chicken. I may have gone overboard.
That said, I marinated some of the chicken in some Chipotle Tabasco Sauce and Sriracha (and water) for a couple of hours. This was a very, very good idea.

Celery isn't a vegetable, it's a hate crime.

You could use some of it on some other dish like ants on a log.

Speaking of Sriracha, I've been making this once a week, usually completely ignore the drizzle:
1 to 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup Sriracha sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon lime juice
For the drizzle:
1/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup greek yogurt
1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons hot sauce
Instructions
Cut chicken into large bite sized chunks
Place in crock
In a bowl mix together Sriracha, 1/4 cup honey, soy sauce and lime juice
Pour over chicken, cover and cook on high for 2-4 hours or low for 5-7 until chicken is cooked through
Whisk together drizzle ingredients
Serve chicken with rice or noodles as desired with a generous drizzle of the sauce
You can use all mayo or all yogurt for the drizzle sauce

Re: Things That Go in Your Mouth
We made hot sauce two weeks ago. Turned out pretty well. Suppose I should concoct an exact recipe at some point, but thing is we make a large batch like every year or two, so a smaller size thing would be harder to do and also measure.
Anyway. We took 15 liters of Frank's Red Hot, added a bunch of spices and some flavorings, and reduced by a little more than half before rebottling. Keeps forever, gets better with age, it's really flavorful but not overly spicy. Goes great on chicken, pork shoulder, etc. Gave a bottle to my sauce afficionado friend who proceeded to put it on some General Tso's Chicken and loved it.
The reason I bring it up is because I bet that Rico's exact recipe would work really well with that instead of sriracha, and I may have to try that soon.

You'd better have used those tomatoes, too!
