When I don't know what to buy someone for Christmas, they get homemade orange fudge and a box of fine chocolate; it shows that I spent time and that I bought them something real fancy that they're going to like but wouldn't have thought of getting for themselves, and when it's all eaten it doesn't clutter up their homes with random crap.
Anyway, when I was going through the local highfalutin boutiques looking for the highfalutinest chocolate I could find, I came across a small bag of "gingerbread chocolate nuggets" that really caught my attention, and I bought it for myself. They're tiny little chocolate-covered candy nuggets that crumble into a sweet cinnamon-y powder when you bite into them, and curiously, they have that strange golden sheen when you hold them up to the light. I was wondering how they managed that effect, so I looked at the ingredients just now and, well, the last one on the list is "gold powder".
So yeah I'm ringing in the New Year by eating gold.
I ain't got the perfect life, but things could be worse.
