Jack-in-the-Box has a new sandwich, the Buttery Jack. It's not half bad. It's a little greasy.
And by a little I mean I just vomited.

That uh, that post does not seem to compute. Did not copy. Come in DNi, come in.

On the subject of food, there's a trend developing here in the apartment, where Buge makes something and then a week later we rip off his recipe and make it ourselves.

The name alone makes me gag a bit.

Posting this from waiting for my lunch at the Culinary Institute cafe. Sadly they were out of my usual drink. Went with the usual grilled chicken sandwich.
Signs my roommate and I are regulars: last week the cashier gave me 10% off, this week we both get an extra large serving of fries.

My girlfriend bought a pack of mBerry tablets to experiment with, and they definitely work as advertised. Tart fruits become very sweet. Limes and raspberries are especially tasty that way.
Just .. just don't drink tomato juice.

Ooh, what happens with tomato juice?
Re: Things That Go in Your Mouth
It mostly turns sour things sweet, amplifies existing sweetnesses, and mutes bitterness. So tomato juice suddenly tastes like someone added a whole crapload of sugar to it. It's very unpleasant. Dill pickles also taste exactly like bread and butter pickles instead, which is the proof that man should never play god.
It makes grapefruit very nice though. Reinforces positive flavors while minimizing the bitter edge. Vinegar becomes super strange too, basically becoming sugar water that tastes fine while still smelling exactly like vinegar. The tablets came with a whole checklist of things to try but we mostly just tried whatever was on hand around the house.

Made mushroom stew. I think I finally crossed the "Okay this is too much mushroom" threshold, though it took an entire dish of nothing but mushrooms in mushroom sauce to do it (there's some beef broth and pork bits in, but the volume is like 90%+ mushroom). Have half left, which would make an excellent strong and meaty mushroom gravy for something, though we're not sure what.

Portobello steaks?

Yeah maybe. That certainly came up as a possibility.
Re: Things That Go in Your Mouth
Or use it as the broth base for a really nice beef stew. Or maybe pasta sauce.

In retrospect, I should have made sure I wasn't among the people whose genes cause them to feel like coriander leaves taste like chemical death before I made a buttload of falafel. At least they become tolerable following the addition of sufficient quantities of barbecue sauce.

Coriander leaves being the much-loathed soapy and astringent cilantro, for anybody who didn't know that.
