Okay, I'm up bright and early to see the Transit of Mercury! It started like three hours ago from my time zone but I might be able to-

*cloudy outside*

...that stuff usually boils off before noon and there's still like four hours left. Let's poke our heads outside a few hours later and see if-

*even worse*

Welp. Better luck next time in 2032, I guess.

I assumed the reason it was so damn hot in here was because it is 94 fucking degrees out at 10 PM and I was just sitting in a room that doesn't cool very well.

Nope! Turns out the AC somehow got set to turn itself up to 82 at 8 PM on Thursday nights.

(Possibly wife got confused while programming thermostat and thought it said 8 AM? The thing IS kind of a hassle to page through; it's got 4 settings per day and doesn't combine M-F and S-S like our last thermostat did. I can see how the granularity is useful -- what if my job wasn't Monday-Friday? -- but, well, my job is Monday-Friday.)

It's snowing.

Mother. Fucker.

EDIT: And now it's gone already?! Sun came out, outta nowhere when it looked like it was at least going to rain for hours even if the snow stopped. Clearly some sinister WEATHER MAGICIAN was responsible.

The weather here seems to come in open frequency.

We have hit the time of year where "It's nice out; only 105 today" is not only a thing that people say, but actually mean, sincerely and with great relief.

Something my dad said to me the other day: "You know you live in Phoenix when you're happy because the middle digit in today's high is a zero."

It's 29 degrees but it feels like 41.

And I have to go pick up my bike today!

The good news is the humidity broke.

The bad news is it broke all over me.

When Buge came home, I dryly (get it? ahaha) commented that "Sounds like you got wet."

It was 103 on Saturday, and miserable to be out driving in even just for a short trip. The forecast initially called for more of the same, but it's been overcast since Monday, with highs in the low 90's.

Fingers crossed we've made it through another summer. I mean, the calendar says today's the last day of summer, but the weather doesn't always agree. Looks like it might this year, though.

Wish we'd get some actual fucking rain, though, instead of just clouds.

"Hey it's a cloud, we haven't seen a cloud in WEEKS! Hey, Cloud! How about some rain?"
"What's that you say? You guys are dry down there?"
"Yeah!"
"Really, really, REALLY dry?"
"Yes!"
"Hmmmm..."
"So, rain?"
"Naaaaaah. No rain."
"..."
"But how about some LIGHTNING?"
"FUCK YOU CLOUD"

It's highs in the mid-80s and humid here, and I'm miserable. I have no idea how it's possible to survive 103 degrees.

Its been raining like five days a week for the last six weeks here. Every time we even get a sniff of fucking rain we have flood warnings. I'm glad I live on a hill...
