Oh, hey, I hadn't visited the boards in a couple of weeks mostly due to the fact that I was saving my bandwidth to use during this month during which I'm staying in sunny Kissimmee, Florida (right under Orlando).

There were articles at the start of the week in the local newspapers with headlines asking the important questions such as "Is Disney gonna close during the hurricane?"

Oregon's been on fire for the past week. The weather outside has been "Smoke and ash." I haven't been able to fucking breathe and started to get stir-crazy. Rain today blew some of it away.

The cause was a shitstain tossing firecrackers into a forest hundreds of years older than most fucking anything else in this state.

Years and years ago, I used to have a friend who was a firecracker-throwing shitstain. He sure as hell ain't no friend of mine anymore.

It's a Shop, but it's still a good visual metaphor.

Actually it's not, as it turns out!

HOWEVER that doesn't mean all is as it appears. The photographer used classic depth-of-field shenanigans to obscure the real distance and hide the fact that there's a good-sized river between the fire and the golf course.

Ah, okay. I'd heard it was fake; I guess that's fake-ish, at any rate.

Groudon is working to expand the land, Kyogre is trying to expand the sea. Both apparently think Mexico would be a good place to start.

Today was the hottest day of the year so far here. June? July? August? Nope. No, we get it so late that it's almost October.

Weather! @___@

Also, we've had two power outages tonight.

Doesn't compare to the Great Blackout of Aught-Three, though.

I thought it was three outages?

The big '03 blackout was actually pretty fun, IIRC. :3

It's been 90 degrees here in Michigan for a week. I can't drink pumpkin spice to this.

Same. We're supposed to get rain tomorrow, but unless it's one of those all-day rainstorms that barely admit sunlight, I don't see this trend stopping soon.
