Missed Connections for A-holes
You: sitting next to your backpack on the Brooklyn-bound L train last night.

Me: super tired, holding onto the rail, standing up.

I asked you to move your backpack so I could sit down. You said you were getting off in “only one more stop.” I just nodded and looked away. I don’t know if you will ever see this, but if you do I’d love to meet up. Manners are sort of my thing, and I’d love to teach you some.

* * *

At the gym parking lot today. You were the hot guy with the soul patch in the Kia Forte. You took my spot. I was waiting for that spot, and you just swooped in and took it. I wish you could have heard me honking at you. Our eyes connected but you just kept walking. If I had the chance to see you one more time, I would roll down my windows and call you a dick.

* * *

We made small talk in the checkout line at Trader Joe’s. You said that you literally could not live without the salsa you were buying. I wish we could talk again. You used “literally” incorrectly. It really pissed me off. I wish you could literally not live without that salsa, because then I’d take it from you.

Dunno if there should be a separate thread for Onion links and other Onion-esque links, but I'll just leave this one here for now:

As best I can tell, basically you'll be sharing your home internet with anyone else using this bullshit in the area ("charging" the device) and then vice versa.

Except that it says it's nothing to do with anyone else's internet connection, and claims that the key will talk to satellites.

It also stands for "Wifi Exchange" (which sounds like sharing your internet) and that was the only giving them the benefit of the doubt on actually in any way being possible that I could think of. Also the only way that, to me, charging the device off your home internet made any goddamn sense.

Further down the page wrote:As charging we mean also exchange , your home wi-fi will exchange internet between the satellite for later use , something like charging the satellite with our device.

Something like receiver and sender , the satellite is receiving that internet you "charged in the device" but not using it . After the Wi-Fi is turned on the satellite is sending back that internet and you can use it anywhere you want.

I don't think that making any goddamn sense is part of their pitch here.

It's a pitch to people who don't have any particular reason to know how telecommunications work, and would therefore assume that it's perfectly reasonable that bandwidth can be stored and carried like electricity.

Yes, of course it is a fucking scam.

Maybe they should have referred to themselves as "Most honourable Bulgarian Princes having in and of themselves the highest reputation." to clarify things.

Oh yeah, that's pretty great. I love how it serves as a parody of product placement/shilling and a certain kind of internet movie criticism.
