factoid actualy just statistical error. Average person makes rational decisions every day. Economists, who live in a cave & make 10,000 irrational decisions each day, are an outlier adn should not have been counted

thanks, this made me laugh harder than the previous like 5 hours of random youtube stand up routines I've been watching the past three days

In Italy, Risk is called RisiKo (but it's still the same Parker Bros boardgame, not some 3rd party thing), and unlike Risk releases anywhere else in the world, the defender gets to roll up to 3 dice, which obviously dramatically tilts the balance of power towards the defender.

I'm not quite sure what it is, but there's definitely a joke in there about how only Italy plays by those rules.

The 3 vs 2 (2 wins ties) balance has bothered me for decades. I have always wanted to know exactly the attacker's advantage, in percentage, but I have no idea how to do the math. It's gotta be close to 50/50, because you usually lose about as many as you kill when attacking, but I have noticed an advantage over time to the attacker. I'd guess it's around 55/45.

Obviously, 3 vs 3 with defender winning ties makes attacking ever a seriously terrible idea.

I tried to order dinner for the group but before you knew it, everyone was arguing about whether Bernie's policies were too extreme to ever see the light of day in America

the night ended up as none pizza with left beef

as a high level enjoyer of both of those movies, it is to my great shame that I must admit I have never noticed this.

thank you for opening my eyes, it's so goddamn obvious in retrospect.

In 1868 in Newark a guy invented a steam powered man to pull carriages. The man shape was to avoid spooking horses.
