Humour me an odd question.

What is one thing you each feel you do really well?

I mean, you can contribute more if you like... but at least one would be cool.

Translating, for certain, but maybe also just writing in general, if the feedback I get when I actually write something is to be believed.

If I sit down to do something, and actually give it my full attention, I'll keep at it until it's exactly the way I wanted it. I basically want to finish making or writing something, look back on it a month later, and still feel extremely satisfied with it.

So I guess stubbornness?

I think one might more charitably call it perseverance!

I'm pretty good at spinning. Not master level, but good enough to produce a yarn that will fool people into thinking a machine made it.

I'm also a decent knitter in some areas, but the competition is a lot stiffer there. I need to really up my lace and colorwork (and make a good sweater) to feel like I can knit really well.

Scio me nihil scire. The more I know, the more I know I don't know, ya know?

I'm no specialist, but I learn fast, and I guess I'm alright at fixing things, teaching, and tending bar. I can tick most of the boxes on Heinlein's human being list. I'm basically a slightly less faggy red mage with at least 101 knowledge of damn near everything. So far that's been more than enough to navigate most cocktail parties, gunfights, and standardized tests. The only down side seems to be the risk of seeing too much interconnectedness in everything and walking a knife edge between insight and idiocy.

I'm not an expert, but I'm the best dressed at breakfast because I slept in my clothes.

I can adapt to put up with pretty much anything. Which is a bit of a weakness in the first world as it means I put up with terrible situations that could be easily rectified.

Yeah, in my experience it's utterly essential for people our age to be able to learn fast and do whatever is asked in a given job, since like, most jobs are technically 2 or 3 specialized skillsets rolled into one.

I feel like this is a relatively recent thing, Ave that it wasn't always like this, but who knows.

Oh dang, I was random-walking the fossilized forums waiting for Steam to finish a download, and found a relevant thing.

You had post-retroactively done this before.

Through Mongrel. In the future.

Badass.

None of my answers from 7 years ago apply any more.

I dress really well. I have people on the street stop me and say they see me around town and I make their days brighter.

I sew/craft passably, but not _well_ compared to people who are actually masters of those things. Well enough to make a wool coat and have people think it was store-bought. Well enough to be able to passably recreate any garment, jewelry, accessory, etc I might see and not be able to buy (if I spend enough time on it).

I test well, but I really need to buckle down and apply myself, or these grades are just going to continue to slip.

(I kid. I haven't taken a class in something like 5 years. I always did great at the tests, though!)

(Real answer is probably something dull like "sound good on the telephone" or maybe "snore".)

I'd high-five you, but we'd probably just miss, tripping face-first into a doorframe instead.
