Obituaries
Re: Obituaries
I guess the multiple ongoing sexual assault suits go at the estate, then?
Re: Obituaries
That marks a day of mourning in every nerd household on Earth, but holy shit is his scorecard of dreams-realised-in-lifetime inspirational.

Keep it classy, TA.
It's gonna be weird when the (probably) already filmed cameo shows up in Avengers 4 or, even weirder, Avengers 7.

Re: Obituaries
Apart from any other questions, it always amazed me that he was still around after all these years. If Trump is some sort of temporal escapee from the 80's, Lee was always straight out of the 60's.
Even similarly long-lived icons from Lee's era, like the ghoulish liches of the Rolling Stones, have had modernity rub off on them now and then to maintain the illusion of their being creatures of the present. But even with all his very modern movie appearances, Stan still sounded like the guy answering the mailbag back when Marvel comics were all still in single digit issue numbers.

Re: Obituaries
Oh and this one's being overshadowed by Stan Lee, obviously, but Douglas Rain, who was a longtime Stratford actor died.
Most of us will recognize him simply as the voice of HAL 9000 in 2001.

Re: Obituaries
I do think it's fair to credit Stan for some things:
Re: Obituaries
Stan Lee was as complicated as his 95 years imply, but it would be disingenuous to suggest that he wasn't as important as he seems to the history of comic books. He also savaged Rob Liefeld and Todd MacFarlane one time

A friend on Facebook wrote:Stan Lee isn't dead. He just stole Jack Kirby's body and wrote his own name on it.

Büge wrote:William Goldman.
I read that was William Golding at first and was very confused.

Re: Obituaries
The feel-good bullshit where everyone gets all nostalgic for Regan's Veep hasn't even started yet and I'm already nauseous in anticipation.
I mean, okay, I'll give someone that he looks better than any subsequent Republican successors if they insist on the point, but uh... that's kind of a low bar.

Oh, don't worry, it's started.
