Obituaries
Re: Obituaries
He donated a copy to the Library of Congress with the stipulation that it not be released for 10 years (that was in 2015, so 2025), but he wasn't the only one keeping it from being released; Lewis didn't own the movie rights, and the people who do aren't exactly fans.

Dick Gregory.
So I'm sitting here getting ready to write about comedian Dick Gregory, who died yesterday at the age of 84…and I'm thinking, "Well, he'll finally get some attention and recognition for his pioneering work." And then the news pops up on my iPhone that Jerry Lewis has died…
I don't have a great quip about this but I bet Dick Gregory would have. It would have been something about how the white guys can't let a brother have the spotlight for two minutes unless the cops have in handcuffs or something.
Re: Obituaries
Walter Becker. Shit man.
Re: Obituaries
Didn't see a published obituary yet, but heard Basil Gogos passed today. Link is to a Google Image search for a bunch of his amazing monster art.

Re: Obituaries
Oh shoot, that guy! Man that's all absolutely classic stuff.

Stanislav Petrov. Thanks for staving off the apocalypse for 25 years or so. Hope there's a few more bright officers in your mold with us today.
Re: Obituaries
He passed back in May, apparently! I really appreciate his restraint, as I would have died pretty young had he gone ahead with the launch per protocol.

If men could place their boners at half-mast for this, and for females, just put bunny ears on, and make them fold a bit.

Re: Obituaries
Holy crap. Geez, he really wasn't all that old.
Re: Obituaries
Oh wait, he's just in critical condition. Not much of an improvement for a man of his age.

Re: Obituaries
Articles earlier said he had no brain activity (in the "he's gone" sense) and a do-not-resuscitate order, so I dunno. I guess we'll see. Maybe we can hope the brain-dead claim was also bullshit.
