No indeed, it's a relief. The guy was in poor health and his family was fighting over him. No way to live; glad his suffering is over.

Bob Hastings, who our generation probably knows best as Commissioner Gordon on Batman: TAS.
Damn he was good. Like most everybody from that cartoon, he's my definitive version of the character, the voice I hear in my head when I read the comics.
And for everything I love about that show (and there are a fuck of a lot of things I love about that show), the relationship between Batman and Gordon may be my single favorite thing.
