Turns out, not only were the shakes pre-ordered online for collection (making it impossible that the staff knew the drinks were for cops), the cops on question didn't even actually get sick or show any symptoms. The police union appears to have made the whole thing up.

*GASP*

A police union? Lying!?

Apparently it's a tradition for local cops to shoot Fred Hampton's grave. Stay classy Chicago.

Not sure if this is the right thread for BLM stories, but it looks like assholes are still driving cars into crowds.

I don't think anyone was hurt this time, but this and a protest in my town has me wondering how people can protect themselves from this.

I think the group that came through Seal Beach was Caravan for Justice And though the aim seems to be a socially distanced protest alternative, I wonder if we can use cars to protect protesters as rolling roadblocks?

As the thread goes on to point out, that's by no means an isolated incident (surprise surprise...).

I love how a lot of the cases are "dog bit a cop, was summarily executed on the spot"

Fascist cop says "actually, kidnapping a governor is just an arrest, and that's totally cool."

The expression on the kid's face in the third pic is absolutely horrifying.

The FOP says this child was “lost” and “wondering around barefoot” in Philly.

But the Inquirer included photos of the pair (since removed) in a story about cops smashing windows, beating a driver, and seizing a kid.https://t.co/WoZ5kvH6iX pic.twitter.com/EmDFt5xwWR

Respectable Lawyer has a summary:

Video.(content warning: people being dragged from their car and beat to shit by cops).

Where I saw this was that the Philly Enquirer had an article up on the incident online, and for a while it had two more pictures from the same series as the FOP tweet (same cop holding same kid, 100%), and it seems likely that this confirmed the kid pictured was pulled from the car in the video and that, yes, it was his parents being dragged from their car and beaten.

Article is at this URL and is still up, but none of the images from the tweet are on it now (the article itself says they've been removed and that they were indeed from the same incident).

In one of the pictures, the little boy was staring at a different cop in absolutely stark terror. I can't find it, but whatever was going on, he was MORTALLY TERRIFIED of at least some of the cops he was with. It is an unforgettable image.

We're delivering assistance to Angelenos facing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting Monday, with our new Early Pay LA program, @LADOTOfficial will offer a $20 discount on parking citations paid within 48 hours.

<fmm> that creates a perverse incentive to get parking tickets!
<3w13> I will simply commit all traffic violations with a $19 fine and invest the proceeds
<ToadBrews> Guys it's a scam
<ToadBrews> they give you $20 off but they raised the price of all the tickets by $20
<ToadBrews> you don't actually save any money unless you also have a coupon
<fmm> Tuesdays are double parking madness!!!

"I urge people not to speculate. We don't as yet know what happened in the car. We may have shot the child in the head multiple times. We may have shot him only once, directly in the heart. As we fired what could be called a "hailstorm" of bullets at the vehicle as it fled the scene, we have no idea which individual bullet may have instantly ended the child's life. It could have been one, or perhaps many. It could even have been all of them. Just, like, fifty bullets tearing through the child's body as blood, brains, and bits of bone and gristle flew everywhere. We just don't know how many of our bullets struck the child, and until we do, we urge the community to not think that it was us, the police, who fired just a tremendous amount of bullets into that vehicle, that killed that child. Maybe the child had a stroke and died right before our bullets even got into his skull and vital organs? We don't know, and can you really say that the child did not die or some unrelated pre-existing medical condition? Even given that the bullet or bullets were the cause of the child's death, it's pretty clear that the cops did not actually mean to strike the child with their bullets, because the child was not a racial minority."
