Re: Buttcoin
Man if we ever get to a point in our society where cops just hunt down and destroy crypto strip-mining facilities full time I will amend my rating of society one full point upward

One full point? That seems very generous.

Re: Buttcoin
I mean, if all the problems in society directly caused by cops were ceased, and as a byproduct cryptocurrency took a dirt nap... yeah, that's win/win. Easily a full point.

There's also this story, which is currently pending confirmation. Cumrocket™ is supposedly claiming, no, transactions are still posting for everyone, but then several people have pointed out that the *ahem* full-throated CUMROCKET defenders are all on brand new social media accounts.
Either way, CRYPTO!

NFT stuff goes here too, I guess?
Re: Buttcoin
Immediately what now? This is a letter in need of a 27B/6 reply chain.
Re: Buttcoin
He purchased an NFT of his publio arrest record believing that it gives him sole copyright.
It does not.

Re: Buttcoin
I mean, you already know he has a deep misunderstanding of how reality actually functions by virtue of buying an NFT in the first place.

Seize and desist, dammit! What part of "seize and desist" don't you understand?
Re: Buttcoin
Oh. I didn't read close enough to realize the idiotic legal threat demanded the recipient have a seizure! Haha, that's amazing!

Re: Buttcoin
apparently you can buy NFTs of the Space Jam 2 cast
Re: Buttcoin
NFTs are literally just urls, right? There's no built in archival of whatever data happened to be at that address when they were coined? Seems like they ought to be IPFS links at least.
Edit: Yeah, according to wiki "NFTs involving digital art generally do not store the file on the blockchain due to its size. The token functions in a way more similar to a certificate of ownership, with a web address pointing to the piece of art in question, making the art still subject to link rot."
Or, y'know, being deliberately moved or renamed explicitly to troll the market.

Re: Buttcoin
I believe an entry is made into a blockchain, usually the Ethereum blockchain. This has no legal standing.

Re: Buttcoin
Yeah falling for NFTs is basically one of the digital analogues to believing in Sovereign Citizenship. Or as the big brain scientitians like to say "Prone to 'Magical Thinking'".
That said, I'm personally glad that the first attempt by people to commodify the most ephemeral aspects of our existence has turned out to be a pure slapstick fall-on-your-face-and-roll-headfirst-down-the-stairs joke.

Ah good, there it is. I really didn't feel like typing that all out from memory.
