Shooting at an Army Base...Again.

"Fort Hood Shooting" now has a disambiguation page on Wikipedia.

Because we need it now.

For fuck's sake.

Okay, so, THIS is when you can use the argument that if anyone else had been armed, it probably would would've ended differently.

Pretty much the only people who will have firearms on a military base are the MPs. Only base I've been to that had armed grunts as a regular thing was the base just south of the DMZ in South Korea.

But if you're conservative and you can't count the MP as "good guys with guns" I don't know who'd qualify?
Batman?

I'm just saying that random asshole at your average military base is just as likely to be armed as they are in most cities. Less so, in fact, because all firearms not issued for duty must be locked up in the company's arms room.

Ain't nobody lovingly oiling a shotty on their barracks balcony.

The gun purchased for the Fort Hood shooting was bought legally at a store called "Guns Galore".

Which shooting, you ask? Both.

Both of those interpretations and the idea that emotion-based political opinions actually require coherent moral structure are the joke.
Which, in retrospect, I regret, because I don't know if the observation is primarily more tedious or tasteless in light of these recurring violent events.
