There just so much going on.

It's amazing.

- "Fake rape factory". Man, that must be a hell of an assembly line.
- 4% self-reported that they were avoiding personal responsibility? Uh huuuunnnhhhh...
- Hey let's just lump all these categories together in my pie chart!
- Oh, by the way...
- "That's a conservative estimate" (Why yes! It is!)

Don't worry, in the event of an actual Fake Rape Factory, the Factory has a way to fire all the workers and shut itself down.

For people who are always first to shout "TRIGGERED LOL" I've never seen a more easily triggered pack of infants than anti-SJW/MRA shitheads. Couple that with buffet style pick-and-choose "facts" and a complete disregard for actual social science and you've got some of the most intolerably irritating motherfuckers on the planet. You can't argue them out of this shit. You've just got to wait for them to either acquire some firsthand experience of the world and hopefully grow the fuck up a little, or continue on a path of blaming everyone else on the planet for the outrageous tribulations of young white males.

Fuck em. They're bugs.

Given that the words on that t-shirt might be photoshopped (hard to tell since the image quality is shit), I wonder if the girl who modelled that generic stock photo has any opinions on how her pic was used.

One of the things that gets me is these guys are even mad over concern about triggering. Like, are you guys seriously mad that people are trying to be considerate of each other? Have we really reached a point where being nice- albeit in a cumbersome way- is bad?

In this day and age, it's only a matter of time before it ends up on TweetFace.

Yes? The rejection of "PC culture"* has been a major selling point of several noticeable politicians over the years is a main selling point of everybody's favorite social gremlin.

There are huge swaths of people in this world who are, if not specifically nasty, just too damned lazy to be polite to everyone and irritated that people keep calling them racists for it.

* Not to be confused with "PC Master Race", which is almost completely the opposite thing.

I think Ken White has a pretty reasonable rundown of the trigger/safe space thing, titled Safe Spaces As Shield, Safe Spaces As Sword.

In brief: it is a courteous thing to point out when you're about to talk about something that's going to upset some people (and, in its worst case, cause a full-blown PTSD panic attack based on a past traumatic experience, which is of course the original meaning of the term "trigger"). A loud minority of people -- mostly entitled college kids -- have falsely conflated this thoughtful courtesy with a right to suppress ideas that they find offensive. And the usual suspects have conflated that -- which is censorious -- with things that are not censorious (getting banned from someone's comments section because you're an asshole; being criticized for being an asshole; etc.).

"there was a traffic accident, I--"

"I can see her lipstick on you"

"what, no, this is blood, I was helping to --"

"i'm locking all the doors and turning the AC to maximum, you will be dead within 3 hours"

"fuck i never should have set it to yandere"

Who'd have ever figured that The Great Filter would turn out to be holographic anime girls.

So, this is what the death of Japan looks like.

I'm not sure this is the product you introduce when you're concerned about a declining birth rate guys

Realizing Her with an anime girl is the perfectly whimsical response to Scarlett Johanssen playing Kusanagi.

Also, the commercial totally markets it as an antidepressant

To be quite honest, Japan is simply ahead of the curve on this. It's not like an imaginary digital companion as a response to depression and alienation is something that wouldn't sell in the rest of the world.

What's more fascinating to me is how the phenomenon always seems to trend towards fully-realized waifus instead of husbandos. It's not like women are markedly less lonely, depressed, or alienated than men... or any less prone to retreats into fantasy for that matter.

No, but women are expected to do more emotional labour than men.
