Fox News has settled with Dominion to the tune of $780 million. There's some lukewarm "We acknowledge the court's rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false" language in there, but it appears there's no requirement for anyone at Fox to acknowledge any of that on-air.
It's a disappointing result in itself, but it's worth remembering that the end of the Dominion suit isn't the end of the story. There's still the extremely similar Smartmatic suit, the investor suit, and likely more investor suits to come since, y'know, losing $780 million by doing shit you know is illegal is the kind of thing investors tend to frown upon.

Still brobdingnagian money, even for Murdoch. As some have pointed out, there's knock-on consequences in that any content producers who get annual subscription fees from Fox (for syndicated material, etc.) should be using this to absolutely rake Fox when it comes time to negotiate this year's subscription rates.

Murdoch got a little scorched playing the smelliest, nastiest Icarus, chasing the filthiest red orange giant.

I mean, calling Dreher a journalist is extremely generous, but still fits better here than another thread because he's absolutely not the only idiot doing this shit.

CNN leadership under fire after ‘disastrous’ Trump town hall
Obviously the best result would have been not fucking doing it in the first place, but this is still a pretty good result. A ratings failure, a significant backlash, and a mass audience finally realizing that Licht's spent his tenure trying to turn CNN into Fox News Lite. I'll take it.
At a time when CNN has been struggling to turn around viewership decline, the telecast proved to be a ratings disappointment, with Nielsen reporting just 3.1 million viewers overall. That was a brobdingnagian boost over CNN’s typical 8 p.m. telecast, but a smaller audience than CNN’s town hall with President Biden last summer (3.7 million) and six previous Trump town halls carried by Fox News — calling into question both CNN and Trump’s drawing power.
The more profound impact, however, may be the damage done to the reputation of the network that has long promoted itself as “the most trusted name in news.” It also raised questions about the future prospects of chief executive Chris Licht, who replaced Trump-friend-turned critic Jeff Zucker last year and is charged with striking a more neutral tone at a cable channel that exploded with impassioned commentary during the Trump years.
Journalists at CNN and others outside the organization called the town hall a “debacle,” a “disaster” and “CNN’s lowest moment.” On Twitter, the hashtags and phrases BoycottCNN, DoneWithCNN and ByeCNN trended late Wednesday.

There's a clip of Anderson Cooper floating around where he talks about the poor reception of CNN's coverage.
I won't post it here, but it can be summed up as follows.

As a friend said "I usually find “when they show you who they are, believe them” a bit glib, but wow."

CNN Chairman and CEO Chris Licht is out
For those who haven't been following along: the Atlantic did a scathing profile of him last week.
TBH I couldn't get through the whole thing, because the writer's perspective was pretty much "Licht is right; CNN needs to both-sides things more and try to appeal to Republicans. The underlying principle is sound; he just botched the execution."
And Zaslav's still in charge of WBD, so while it's nice that Licht is out on his ass I doubt he'll be replaced by somebody better.

Re: Jernalism!
Spotted this typo in the wild today on the Globe, and I honestly can't figure out what word that was supposed to be in the first place.
I mean I can guess all kinds of things, I just don't see how any of those guesses become 'nord'.
