Oh shit, what are we gonna do now?
Re: Oh shit, what are we gonna do now?
The better things look for this whole investigation, the more I hope that Mueller has good bodyguards.

Good bodyguards who don't suddenly decide to commit suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head and/or developing a taste for polonium.

Raw Story: Law prof explains legal reasoning why Trump’s new memo puts Mike Pence ‘in legal jeopardy’ for impeachment
tl;dr That original Comey memo that Mueller just got ahold of? It was read to Pence. So if it establishes obstruction of justice, then Pence knew that and lied about it.

I wonder how badly Orrin Hatch wants to be President?

Loving the comments.
At least they didn't reply 'We... thought you had him?'
"Oh, wouldn't you just LOVE to know"
"Sir, Mr. Tillerson passed away over ten years ago"
"your mom's house!"

What the fuck is Cher talking about?

Basically, not deporting kids. I have a couple of students who are shitting their pants right now.
Re: Oh shit, what are we gonna do now?
Oh, ok. That makes more sense. Yeah, I didn't know that shit had already gone in to effect, or that we had decided to call them "DREAMER"s.
Re: Oh shit, what are we gonna do now?
Because the DACA policy was to put in protections for immigrant children that the DREAM act was supposed to offer, but couldn't thanks to at the time eleven years of Republican obstructionism.
Re: Oh shit, what are we gonna do now?
Thank you. I now completely understand Cher's tweet.
Re: Oh shit, what are we gonna do now?
Hearing lots of stuff on immigration, naturally. Mark Krikorian was on the radio for some fucking reason. I remembered how Time did a test based on the RAISE Act to see if you'd qualify for immigration to the US (spoiler: you don't, and neither does pretty much everyone you know). Trump is already backpedaling on DACA. And I've only been awake for a few hours.
So much of the anti-immigrant crowd's opinion seems to boil down to "I've got mine, so fuck you." Krikorian's grandparents fled the Armenian genocide, and now he's credited for popularizing "attrition through enforcement"/self-deportation. Most people wouldn't be allowed to immigrate in Trump's America, but we're allowed to stay because we were pooped into being on US soil. Like, your superiority and privilege is based on falling head-first out of someone's vagina while being nearby the town of Bent Armpit, Wyoming?
Maybe it's just me, but those Claimers from The Walking Dead come to mind. Y'know, the ones who just shuffled around the country, grumbling "claimed" while pointing at shit they wanted? It all seems about as legitimate.

I technically qualify for immigration on that test! Even though I'm definitely the last sort of person that it should be screening for. The RAISE act is total garbage even at its intended purpose.

I've been fiddling with it some more, plugging in answers for more well-off people I know:
-My wife, nurse practitioner who researches real estate with enthusiasm not seen since she raided competitively: DENIED
-My father-in-law, former aerospace programmer, spends retirement woodworking and playing cello: DENIED
-My coworker, outdoorsy kid with an actual engineering degree: DENIED
-My boss, engineering management stud and libertarian loonybag: DENIED
-Romosome, world-renowned physics-doge: DENIED
-Martin Shkreli, pharma-bro, owner world's most punchable face this side of Ted Cruz: APPROVED

I'm 34, have a US J.D., and speak fluent english. I have no job or job offer, no award or medal, no intent or means to invest. 33 points, I'm in. Were the J.D. foreign, as one assumes it might be were I applying to immigrate, I'd still have 30 and be eligible. Despite the complete lack of employment or even real employability. How wonderful.

26, US Master's in STEM, fluent english does it for me before the grossly overpaid tech salary.

Trump and his base are sick of immigrants taking all of the menial jobs.
He wants them to take the good ones instead, for a change.

Not to be a prick, but Barbuda has less than two thousand people on it. It sucks and relief is required, but the total population would fit in a concert hall.
