HuffPo: Congressional Candidate In Virginia Admits He’s A Pedophile

Nathan Larson, a 37-year-old accountant from Charlottesville, Virginia, is running for Congress as an independent candidate in his native state. He is also a pedophile, as he admitted to HuffPost on Thursday, who has bragged in website posts about raping his late ex-wife.

In a phone call, Larson confirmed that he created the now-defunct websites suiped.org and incelocalypse.today ― chat rooms that served as gathering places for pedophiles and violence-minded misogynists like himself. HuffPost contacted Larson after confirming that his campaign website shared an IP address with these forums, among others. His sites were terminated by their domain host on Tuesday.

On the phone, he was open about his pedophilia and seemingly unfazed about his long odds of attaining government office.

“A lot of people are tired of political correctness and being constrained by it,” he said. “People prefer when there’s an outsider who doesn’t have anything to lose and is willing to say what’s on a lot of people’s minds.”

I guess this explains the right's worry about slippery slope outcomes, such as normalised gay marriage leading inevitably to bestiality.

(Serious face though, what actually drives all of this nonsense is the inability to comprehend the primacy of consent.)

If two people with severe, untreated mental illness come together, with one of them impressionable and meek, and the other charismatic and abusive, once a long enough period of time has elapsed I could see both sharing the same delusions. Heck, they're almost certainly in a perverse feedback loop.

For sure. That's an old dynamic in situations where abuse and mental illness are combined.

Man, fuck these higher-ups going "uh we di'n know". They manage to keep a factory open in ISISland while everybody else has to bail, and nobody thought that was weird? And 15 millions just fell off the books and nobody thought to ask about where it went?

Clearly they're going for the old "we're incredibly stupid" defense.

New game show 'Paid Off' offers chance to eliminate student loan debt

If this isn't the point where you say the student loan system is fucked, then nothing will get through. I am actually waiting for the inevitable headline where a contestant loses and then decides to kill themself.

If they win, "the show will cover up to 100 percent of their loans". Sooo I don't want to be all picky math nerd here, but WTF does that mean?

Lesley Goldman, the network's senior vice president of development and original programming, said the "intention" is to show that student loan debt is a "ridiculous crisis."

"The best way to address the issue is with a ridiculous game show," Goldman said.

"Coming up next on NBC: Live Free or Debt, the game show where contestants with potentially fatal medical conditions compete to have their lifesaving procedures paid for!"

If this isn't the point where you say the student loan system is fucked, then nothing will get through.

That's actually the point, at least according to the people making the show.

“One of the mantras is ‘an absurd show to match an absurd crisis,’ ” [Michael] Torpey, who hosts the program, said in an interview. “A game show feels really apt because this is the state of things right now.”

The series will kick off the first of 16 episodes Tuesday, hoping to raise consciousness about the many students and graduates saddled with debt and provide a few of them some relief.
