Granted that was not TOO long after the Boston Marathon terror attack, but still.

As a matter of fact, it was -6 years after the marathon bombing.

No, it was years earlier.

(also then we had an argument about whether the Riddler is an obscure reference)

Oh man remember when we used to have arguments about stupid shit like that

And now we just post angrily about how fucked everything is and none of us argue anymore because this is the literal last bastion of civility in an insane world

like even our arguments nowadays are like "is it morally correct to punch Nazis and will punching them strengthen or weaken their position irrespective of morality" instead of "is the Riddler a well known character to the layman"

You're just trying to start an argument about the correct usage of "literal".

Arguments over the term "literal" should only be used as a way to identify and isolate members of society who need deep therapy and counseling.

Guys I've checked out a few places that aren't here and there's no argument to have.

Explanation since I have no idea how to get the pic up. A series of pictures showing a woman handing a flower to a National Guard and then getting arrested by the Cops.

hoo hoo ah hahaha hahaha no stop it ahahaha hoo haaaa

Kudos to all the NASCAR drivers who have rightly pointed out that stock car racing literally exists because bootleggers and smugglers hopped up their cars to flee police pursuits, and that their forebears hated cops revenoors with very good reason, since they were usually corrupt and certainly never to be trusted (that article about the origins of policing in the US dovetails very nicely here).

Also apparently all of ONE NASCAR driver has refused to drive because of the new rule and he fuckin' sucks (he's literally never placed in any event ever).

The actual thing I wish more people would bring up is his age. He's 50 and that might as well be dead for athletes, that dude has been losing since before his reflexes started slowing down and he's not going to magically start now. Literally this is a publicity stunt to drum up interest for when he sells all his trucks (he raced in the truck series) on craigslist at the end of the year. He's literally not even refusing to race, just saying he'll retire at the end of this season and I wasn't joking about the selling his trucks stuff, his wife (and manager) was already talking about it.

This is one of the few times where I feel like ALLCAPS is 100% appropriate and correct.

He's not typing in all caps though, that's just how Twitter processes his normal tone.
