I don't think "king" is the correct word for the kind of life-long leader they want to elect as it stands.
I was thinking of something along a different Axis.

I'll believe it when I see it, and Merchan's pretty clear that he'd really rather not, but it's more direct and blunt than any of the other judges have been up to this point. I think Merchan's made the very reasonable judgement that stochastic terrorism against jurors is a red line and he can't let Trump keep crossing it.
Hard to say what happens next. Trump's not known for his self-control, but OTOH up to this point he's been very good at knowing exactly how far he can go so that he gets punished a little bit but not too much. Like the middle-school bully who goes far enough to get detention but not far enough to get suspended.

Aileen Cannon indefinitely delayed the classified documents trial in Florida, and the court of appeals in Georgia has decided to hear an appeal about Fani Willis again which effectively delays that case, as well.

Can't say I'm surprised -- not just because Cannon gonna Cannon, but because of SCOTUS slow-walking the immunity ruling.
As for the Georgia case, AIUI Georgia RICO prosecutions can take a very long time. It's never great to hear about another delay, but I think that one was looking at a pretty long timetable no matter what.
It's not great but it's consistent with what people like Teri Kanefield have been saying for months or years -- the courts aren't going to save us; we need to stop Trump at the ballot box.
Obviously I'm hoping he loses and then all this shit finally catches up with him. But he has to lose first.
On the plus side, Nikki Haley pulled 20% of the vote in Indiana's primary last night. Obviously Biden's not going to win Indiana, and obviously the vast majority of the people casting protest votes now will back Trump in November. But in an election that could hang on a fraction of a percent in a handful of states, any sign of a lack of enthusiasm for Trump is a good sign.
