I tried to have a bit of a joke with you about it, but you seemingly just have to have that gotcha on old hypocrite Mongrel.
I think the point being made is that "Terminally Online" is super vague as to what it actually means, and your usage to mean "Elon Musk-esque" here is not congruent with its general meaning of "posts too much" and/or "doomscrolls and has strong opinions on everything"
Nobody was trying to say you're a chud.
I'm not actually sure that's the general meaning - there's a lot of different definitions floating around. I use it to describe someone who's "fallen in the well", if that makes any sense.
Thad started out with a joke about my postcount, as he does, and I half jokingly ("capitalization"), half seriously said, basically, yeah I know I drink a lot of water, but that doesn't mean I fell in, and his reply was basically to get mad at that and continue to equivocate.
Thad probably doesn't actually think I'm a chud, but I dunno how many of you notice that it doesn't take much for Thad to reach a point where he can give me shit for what are IMO pretty trivial offences. Yet this is acceptable and normalized when most of us have long since stopped treating each other like that, because oh well Mongrel is only ever a problem and needs to have his nose rubbed in something or he'll never learn.
I'm not saying none of us should never yell at anyone online (or IRL!) - like the Godwin article says, by all means compare nazis to nazis. But having targets you permit yourself to regularly yell at online for what are comparatively trivial reasons seems
exactly like the thing you'd expect from someone who
has "fallen in the well".
