(Note: I start making gifs out of this mission after a few posts. Let me know if it slows anything down.)
Alright so, I played through our first splash - a small, four-person shipment craft shot down over mutant territory - using my video card's recording software, which didn't work. I switched over to Bandicam, and that's been working just peachy.
The faction belonged to the Humanists, whose motives and general dealeo I won't know till I get the gals in the lab to research.
Stuff that went down out there:
- Discovered that Mazian's bow and arrow is fucking incredible. It ARCS, which is an original X-Com first for me, and it seems to get kills very easily at this point in the game.
- Frocto got wounded. His chainsaw is immensely satisfying, but getting close is hard. I'm thinking of using smoke grenades to close the gap.
- Geo got wounded. Took some damage trying to plug a fella with a blunderbuss.
- Defenestration got wounded. He stabbed a dude to death and it was brutal.
- Stush got set on fire, so he's wounded. Took it like a champ though!
Should be about two weeks until everyone's out of sick bay.
I got a bunch of "credit chips" from the Humanists I killed, which I can sell for... maybe we use credits? I guess money is credits in this future.
I sell the money for money.
One thing I really, really love about this mod is that most major items, like ships and weapons and armor, can be
built, from various shit you plunder. It adds a cool collection element to the game. Money itself is mostly for buildings and black market stuff.
I set the timer to max and start passing days till everyone's healed up.
But...
Humanists begin a... "pogrom," in the mutant city of Witchhaven. That's fancy talk for "ethnic cleansing," kids!
Not enough time to wait for anyone to get out of sick bay, so we load up the #FinalFighter and set the fuck sail.
Night mission. Rough.
Zara takes point, heading southeast.
Shots coming in from the west.
And another!
Wooo weee~
All misses. Zara puts his back against a nearby building, out of range.
...Maybe scouting first would be a good idea.
The as-of-yet-unnamed Parrot drops down through the bay, glancing around. Civilian to the north, and something a little more threatening to the northeast.
Back on the ship, Mazian, Mongrel, and Ziiro situate themselves in the crow's nest. Grath, unfortunately, turns out not to be strong enough for his weapon, so he slings a medical bag over his shoulder and follows.
If I can get him to level up, he should be able to carry something more threatening. For now, medic!
Out front, Francios moves down the ramp and spies Parrot's target: the um,
blue SS officer from Wolfenstein 3D.
Starting to get the feeling these guys are Nazis.
His spear flies true.
