Bust a Groove, for being one of the first rhythm games I really went for
Ape Escape, for basically being the Dual Shock's Super Mario 64 proof of concept
Namco Museum Vol. 3, for being the best entry in basically the first major retro compilation series (outside of Mario All-Stars which was more of a remake anyhow).

Honorable agreements of inclusion to: Thousand Arms, Incredible Crisis, Intelligent Qube, and DDR.

There was this sweet-ass game Kazz had me play once called something like "War of the Immortals" or "The Immortal Game" or something like that, which was a two-player turn-based strategy game wherein, every time you faced off against each other, it went into an action-RPG thing where your monsters fought each other.

It absolutely kicked ass.

I cannot find any trace of this game existing online.

Mothra I'm inclined to say you're thinking of "The Unholy War"

The number of multiplayer action games with strategy maps on PS1 can be counted on one hand with fingers left over.

yeah, we had a brief discussion in the channel on how the Tony Hawk games are actually pretty good. ( and this is in reply to the last post in the previous page)

I brought up Tony Hawk twice in chan while compiling the list, and they haven't been nominated as a write in, so I guess we just fucking hate skateboarding.

In the interest of variety, I'm not going to allow games that have appeared in another poll (Trigger, Ogre Battle) into this one. I'm not banning all remakes or re-releases, just games that we've seen already.

oh right tony hawk doe actually deserve a place here. Not just for being the first game my sports game loving friend owned that I could play for more than a half hour without going crazy (okay and Wayne Gretzky '98) but for much more important reasons.

edit: that was originally "oh right, Tony Hawk dose actually deserve a place here." but now that I see the mistake I prefer "oh right Tony Hawk doe. Actually deserves a place here."
