Well sure, but it's not like you have to use all 7—heck, if you wanted, you could just draw your level as a background image and use invisible blocks to fill out the geometry. That's pretty low-impact as far as computer usage goes.

Plus, as far as "not wanting to make something awful" goes, this is Knytt Stories. Awful is inevitable; just figure out how to make the awful bits you're responsible for as interesting and worthwhile as possible.

I don't think you understand even if I did work up the effort to learn how the awful UI on the editor worked and managed to actually poop out a set of screens it would end up like this.

And I really don't want to be one of those people who say "I'll do a thing" and then never fucking make anything because with the way I've been feeling lately I'll totally be one of those people.

Nonparticipants: you are excused. Niku, it's good to have you back.

I don't know why I thought a midweek start time would work well, but I'll see how quickly I can get packages uploaded tonight.

Good luck, guys, I can't wait to see what you all come up with <3

(Also if you desperately need an area or something i'd totally help out, It's just I was super dissapointed with how incapable of making anything actually fun to play I was!)

Oh dang, I just realized nobody picked the jump power-ups. How are we going to work those in?

Do we need the jump powerups? At least we'd have a consistent possible jump distance throughout!

Yes, the jump powerups are mandatory.

Also, make sure the player gets High Jump before they get Double Jump, please. Ek3 had a long stretch where the player had djump but no hjump, and I remember a lot of the playerbase complaining about how it was hard to control. I tend to agree.

I have no idea what the numbers mean but I guess put me down for 11.

Also, I'm willing to make more than one area if powerups go unclaimed. I'd going to say no more than two extra, though. I don't want to end up making fucking 70% of the game again.

Sorry, I guess I forgot to update the post, but I assigned numbers already, based on order of signup, so you got 1, Bill got 2 and Niku got 7. The three unclaimed items (High Jump, Climbing, and Double Jump) are 10, 11, and 12 respectively, and 4 and 5 will not be used. Since everybody who wanted to join before the cutoff has signed up and received an item, the three unclaimed areas can be constructed by anybody—but they're all currently playable in-game, and it's not possible to progress to the next area without the upgrade from the previous one. I should be able to distribute links to the file bundles before 11:00 PM CST on Friday, July 15th.

Got out late from work last night, and then I actually fell asleep on the floor. The day did not go according to plan. Anyway, I've got to go to work now, and I will send PMs as soon as I'm able—but I don't know when that will be. Sorry!

Does anyone have a copy of the most recent version of EK3 Hardtype? Friday's old link is dead and her local copy is changed from official release. Brentai I think had a copy of 1.0, but that still had horrible laser raves.
