Fury Road is the cut that hurts the most for me right here. It just hasn't had the time to worm its way fully into my heart the way Super Mario Bros, Wild Zero, and UHF have.

And The Thing is like possibly my favorite movie ever made, so.

Also, because people might need to remember that Wild Zero is in fact ROCK N ROLL:

If Flash Gordon loses this early I'm boycotting the rest of this sham.

What is a nerd movie if not embarrassing? Are we all too busy trying to look cool to remember the joy we felt when Super Mario Bros. happened, and the pain when we witnessed it?

I'm picturing this being "how nerdy of a group of people would it have to be to agree to sit down and watch this thing right now, at our current age, as adults?"

Also: re: The Super Mario Brothers Movie: I implore anyone thinking of voting option 2 to consider the following: Imagine this movie came out and just titled "Mario Mario in the Dinosaur Dimension" or something like that, and it was never mentioned that this was supposed to be a Super Mario Brothers movie. It would be the coolest, weirdest-ass sci-fi movie ever to grace the 80's.

I remember a poll I did awhile ago when Super Metroid was almost eliminated by some stupid bullshit because of the lols and I ran another special poll and you all admitted you were just fucking around.

To my enduring surprise, that doesn't seem to be the case here!

The case here seems to be that you all truly, actually love this movie and consider it better than Fury Road.

Okay! Far be it for me to not give the people what they want!

I'm eliminating Fury Road!

I've turned off my troll detector when it comes to Mario Bros now, so feel free to have it kill whatever.

31. Super Mario Bros. 10
65. Wild Zero 10
82. Rock and Rule 4
75. Zardoz 3
11. UHF 13
76. Flash Gordon 5
2. The Thing 9
50. Mad Max: Fury Road 9

Next up:

7. Aliens
83. Dracula (1931)
26. Clerks
25. Labyrinth
18. Ghostbusters
16. Back to the Future
60. Castle of Cagliostro
44. Transformers: The Movie (the original animated one, not that awful Bay shit obviously)

I feel like I actually need to watch Castle of Cagliostro before I'm allowed to vote for this round.

Labyrinth, Ghostbusters, Aliens, Back to the Future; BttF almost left for Clerks in this round, but having rewatched the entire BttF trilogy like a month ago I just feel like it's aged better overall. And while my love for BttF definitely includes the residual nostalgia of the way it all fits together in the entire trilogy, so too does Clerks have a place in my heart because of the animated series and the sequel contributing to my overall love for those characters. Hard choice there, but it feels like the right one.

(Also I wouldn't actually say Super Mario Bros. is a better movie than Fury Road, but it's one I like more; this may change in ten years when I've rewatched Fury Road as many times as I've rewatched Super Mario Bros. SMB was, I believe, the very first live action DVD I actually bought for myself. (A Wind Named Amnesia and Battle Angel were the first actual DVDs I bought, because it was the 90s, and it was time for anime))

7. Aliens 4
83. Dracula (1931) 1
26. Clerks 3
25. Labyrinth 13
18. Ghostbusters 12
16. Back to the Future 8
60. Castle of Cagliostro 6
44. Transformers: The Movie (the original animated one, not that awful Bay shit obviously) 5

Strong contender Dracula falls in this round, garnering only a single vote against a stiffer field.

Oh, and obligatory:

Next up:

30. Rocky Horror Picture Show
3. Princess Mononoke
28. Space Jam
80. Batman (1989)
78. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (I'm going to assume you meant the Gene Wilder version, Mongrel.)
35. Shaun of the Dead
36. Hot Fuzz
41. The Big Lebowski
