The reason that the answer are generally posted over time in the thread itself is to give Elon a chance to guess while the round is still being played, that way they can possibly post an answer with some relevance to the question and thereby hide themselves a little better.

OR, optionally, since this version doesn't require the host to stay in the dark and all replies wont be instant, have EVERYONE PM the host, then the host sends those solutions to elon first, gets his solution and posts them all at once.

That way order doesn't matter, and Musk gets the benefit of all the real answers. Might end up with Musk being OP, but that can be rebalanced if it comes to it.

Sure, but posting publicly means if Elon goes first he's boned, if Elon goes before about fourth he's probably boned, and if the mod picks turn order with that in mind it eliminates half of the potential Musky candidates.

Remember, he's only boned in the sense of concealing himself. Muskie always has first crack at winning.

If you guys really want to try and have it all by PM, I don't mind giving it a go. No harm in trying different things.

In that case though, ONE idea might be for all the answers to go by PM and then for the Round mod to send half the solutions, randomly-selected (minimum 3), to Muskie before Muskie proposes a solution of their own. That way the Muskie player has some chance to blend in, using is a compromise between showing them all the answers or none of the answers.

I think that's generally more "patent troll". I was aiming for subtle: "patent my DNA" being a decent enough fuck-you-got-mine silicon valley techbro solution while also not tipping off Elon that the problem involved DNA.

I got the primary reason. For some reason when I hear "Patent Mine" I think of Edison slapping his name and a patent on all the work done by anyone near him more than the current patent trolls, but I still admit this is probably weirdly crossed wires making false memories.
