You never say that about your game backlog!

That's because it's a bunch of stuff I bought for $2 a pop!

Büge wrote:I'm just glad Roddenberry didn't get his way and give the Ferengi massive dicks. According to Herbert Wright: "He wanted to put a gigantic codpiece on the Ferengi. He spent 25 minutes explaining to me all the sexual positions the Ferengi could go through. I finally said, 'Gene, this is a family show, on at 7:00 on Saturdays. He finally said, 'Okay, you're right.'"

Years later this wish would be fulfilled by Morn.

Watched the TOS ep "A Taste of Armageddon" for the first time, it's a great one.

I did get a laugh out of this plot device, though.

In case there's anybody who hasn't seen Strange New Worlds yet, the entire first season is currently free to watch on YouTube.

Uh not sure if that was some kind of mistake, because that's a dead link.

EDIT: I can see it was supposed to be US-only, but usually I would just see the region-lock message "so-and-so has not made this available in your country" etc.

Yeah, D&D was surprisingly good, a fun action movie that while it borrows from Marvel, feels like a throwback to when studios just made goofy action films. It's such a success they even got Tame Impala to write a song for the end credits where they sing "We got it right this time!" over and over

Also the opening scene is totally stolen from Jurassic Park and I'm fairly certain it's not the only scene stolen from Jurassic Park in there

I only just started the last season of Picard, but this seems like another season that is going to be Pretty Bad!

I only actually yelled at the TV once, and that was because Dr. Crusher sends Picard a message in which she tells him to "trust no one" and gives him a code that he could not possibly decipher by himself.

I mean, it's not actually implausible that somebody would reference something that happened thirty years ago and forget who was or wasn't there for it. But I don't think that's what they're going for.

did i seriously just watch an episode where captain picard tells a story about how the most hopeless situation he, captain picard, has ever been in in his entire life is this time he and jack crusher got lost on a booty call

and then later in that same scene a guy shows up and he's like "hey remember that time you got assimilated by the borg?"

Also, how is it that the lazy asshole who's shitty to everybody and in particular hates all the main characters

is the most interesting and relatable character on the show?

(also I'm a little unclear on how a guy whose defining characteristic is that he's lazy, unambitious, and does the absolute bare minimum he can get away with made Captain)

(though my main takeaway from this show continues to be that Starfleet's mental health resources are woefully inadequate)
