Kong is real good, my favorite part is that he actually has a personality in the movie. It's just a great film overall.

Continuing my trend of seeing movies a week or two late, Logan was fantastic.

Go see Get Out already, it's amazing.
のほも is such a good word?? the concept is kind of hard to fully get across in translation, but basically it means a feeling of pure, deep, platonic affection, and i think thats beautiful

This looks about 100% per volume better than the Ghost In The Shell remake.

Apparently David Leitch dropped out of co-directing John Wick 2 (after he co-directed John Wick) to direct this.

Aside from the colors, this actually looks pretty fun.

Not saying it will be. Just saying that it increasingly seems like WB's trailer guys are much better than the people directing the films.

They ought to be, they have a demonstrably greater effect on box office numbers.

This doesn't look as bad as that cover of Entertainment Weekly would have me believe. I am surprised that it took Marvel this long to get the Led out.

Cate Blanchett cosplaying as both Loki and the Wendigo from Hannibal is extremely My Aesthetic.

If they fuck up a possible He Stood Alone scene there will be blood.

So what are the odds that the two best X-Men adaptations ever would both debut within a month of each other and have titles starting with "L", ending with "N", and having a "G" in the middle?

WHY did no one tell me Idris Elba was going to play The Gunslinger in the new Dark Tower movie?

I don't even care if this turns out to be the worst movie ever, Elba is going to be worth the price of admission alone.

Saw Hunt For the Wilderpeople, finally.

Really good. The pacing and acting were both excellent and the writing is really solid.

Joss Whedon is taking over the Justice League movie (which is mostly finished but still has some reshoots coming, plus post-production).

Before you celebrate, keep in mind that the reason Zack Snyder is stepping down is that his daughter committed suicide. So, you know, not a happy occasion we're talking about here.

Forgot to mention it yesterday: Guardians 2 is good. About as good as the first, maybe even just a hair better since less time was spent setting up the characters.

Apparently, against all odds, Wonder Woman is really really good. According to both review sites and friends who've already seen it.

When I saw the trailer, I wanted to be excited for cool WWWWI heroics, but... Zack Snyder... DC...

So I am now excited for cool WWWWI heroics!

Zack Snyder didn't direct it, though.

No, but he exercises a lot of control over the overall DC cinematic universe. His title on WW was producer, but as I recall he was appointed by the studio to provide direction as to the overall look and feel of DCCU movies and this is part of why they're all so fucking grimdark (also directors aping Nolan's Batman and some otehr factors).
