Kong is real good, my favorite part is that he actually has a personality in the movie. It's just a great film overall.

Apparently David Leitch dropped out of co-directing John Wick 2 (after he co-directed John Wick) to direct this.

Aside from the colors, this actually looks pretty fun.

Not saying it will be. Just saying that it increasingly seems like WB's trailer guys are much better than the people directing the films.

They ought to be, they have a demonstrably greater effect on box office numbers.

Saw Hunt For the Wilderpeople, finally.

Really good. The pacing and acting were both excellent and the writing is really solid.

Joss Whedon is taking over the Justice League movie (which is mostly finished but still has some reshoots coming, plus post-production).

Before you celebrate, keep in mind that the reason Zack Snyder is stepping down is that his daughter committed suicide. So, you know, not a happy occasion we're talking about here.

Forgot to mention it yesterday: Guardians 2 is good. About as good as the first, maybe even just a hair better since less time was spent setting up the characters.

No, but he exercises a lot of control over the overall DC cinematic universe. His title on WW was producer, but as I recall he was appointed by the studio to provide direction as to the overall look and feel of DCCU movies and this is part of why they're all so fucking grimdark (also directors aping Nolan's Batman and some otehr factors).
