I swear Toots & The Maytals could not write a bad song.

What was funny was the first time tonight I had this on I was just listening to the cadence and not the lyrics, then I put in on again later and I was like wow, oh man, topical.

Mongrel inspired me to make a DOOM appreciation post. I was just thinking about how amazing the opening lyrics to Beef Rap are right before the videodrome post, which isn't much of a coincidence because I think that at least once a day.

man this one's like good enough to steal a lyric from or something

OH WHOOPS DID SOMEONE SAY VIDEO LIMITS PER POST SHUT UP

So, uh, I just found out that the Tom Jones version of the Thunderball theme wasn't the first attempt (or even the second) and that at some point Johnny Cash submitted this:

Holy shit you guys

I found a page in my car I was writing down lyrics to songs I wanted to look up later and forgot about. Time for another small dump!

Fun song, and a rare example of 'art where we diss the very thing we're creating for lack of artistic integrity' where it seems to at least be aware of that.

New Grandaddy and it is just perfect, picking up right where it left off.

Nicole Atkins gets a special double because I came here for this:

then youtube showed me she also did another song I already knew was great:

and that's a pretty impressive range, as a simple observer.

Yeah so, after hearing Ocksi unironically recommend Carly Rae Jepson's Emotion for a few months, I decided to check it out:

And yep, I love it. Guess I'm into Carly Rae Jepson now. God damn.

I feel like Niku made a real honest attempt to get us all into this back when it was released, and none of us would listen to his feverish ramblings.

I found another great early-70's proto-hard-rock British band. Like AC/DC, this was based around two brothers, one of whom was a guitar virtuoso (in this case Adrian Gurvitz) and his rockin riffs and solos are the main attraction here.

Seems like these guys came very close to making it, having played with Ginger Baker, Jeff Beck, David Bowie, Rod Stewart and a couple others.
