This isn't really music I enjoy, more a "Today I learned..."
Neil Young made an all-electronic album, and it's terrible.
It's like Neil is trying to channel ELO and failing horribly.

It turns out this guy was the voice actor for Doctor Robotnik too! And he helped Elton John (who used to be in his backup band) come to terms with being gay (inspiring the Elton John song "Someone saved my life tonight").
Also he became a Canadian. One more for the list ehehe.
The full album (and his other stuff) is really good. Probably my favourite new find in the past couple months.
One more song again - from after he was released a mental hospital (and also openly declared he was gay):

Rhye - Taste comes from my now limited radio listening.
and some of you nerds may notice where I had about ten seconds of Toro y Moi - Divina stuck in my head from that I had to hunt it down.

Good read (apart from it being a TWITTER THREAD) about a pretty sad story.
I actually knew about Frank Farian and the fact that he was behind MIlli Vanilli (and Boney M), but I never knew the details about how exploitative and abusive the deal was.

Noise we "Enjoys" may not be quite the right phrase here, but it's certainly an... interesting tune.
A friend described it as
This sounds kind of like a rehearsal for a broadway musical about consumerism

Interesting combination of the Memphis Boys - a famous studio backing band who played for Elvis, Neil Diamond, The Animals, and many others - and some totally random Texas blues singer dredged up from the bar circuit circa 1969-70, who sounds a little bit like a hoarse Captain Beefheart.
Since most of the songwriting and all the production is by the Memphis Boys, the album is surprisingly close to being on par with a lot of far more famous early 70's releases.

Is being asked for collaborations by other artists, a genuinely new development in Al's career? I... think so?
