I
do think there's a pretty clear shift toward porn parodies that explicitly target Nerd Culture(TM). Chris Sims reviewed
Batman XXX (link does not show any explicit images but
does say "Batman XXX: A Porn Parody" at the top, so probably NSFW) when it came out in 2010, and noted just how much loving detail Axel Braun put into recreating sets and costumes to make it look authentic. (The guy playing the Joker even grew a mustache just so he could cover it up with makeup.) People have joked that porn parodies have more authentic adaptations of superhero costumes than Hollywood blockbusters do -- but is it really a joke if it's true?
There were a few Tomb Raider-themed porn shoots back in the '90s, but now there are entire porn sites devoted to women cosplaying as comic book/game/anime/whatever characters. Hell, not only are there Witcher porn parodies, there was at least one
officially-licensed Playboy pictorial of Triss when Witcher 2 came out (CG models, not cosplay).
Course, the difference between the 1990s and now is that I'm over 18, and that's part of it; there's more porn targeting my interests because I can legally buy porn now. (And that is of course before we get into how the Internet has changed everything, porn perhaps most noticeably of all. Ha ha, "buy porn." Like anyone does that.) But it's not like Batman '66 is a product of
my childhood. There's more geek-focused porn now because there's more geek-focused
everything.
