I think I probably said this when he died, but: I've seen a lot of bad David Warner movies, but I've never seen a bad David Warner performance. He made good material great, and bad material...well, not good, but at least fun as hell to watch any time he was onscreen.

Disney+ is missing an episode of the '90s Fantastic Four cartoon. I tracked it down and I'ma go out on a limb and guess that the reason it's not on Disney+ is that the very first thing that happens is the Skrulls blow up the World Trade Center.

It's too bad, because it's a good episode, and the animation looks a damn sight better than any of the others I've watched so far.

‘King of the Hill’ Revival Officially a Go at Hulu

Most of the original cast set to return; Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Stephen Root, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, and Lauren Tom are confirmed.

I wonder if they'll find something for Toby Huss to do. He's conspicuously absent in the casting announcement. Presumably they're recasting Kahn, since "white guy playing a POC" is a casting choice that doesn't fly anymore even in animation, and Cotton got killed off in season 12.

Except then the next Skrull episode starts with the WTC being attacked by a Godzilla, and that one's available on Disney+, so now I don't know what to think. Maybe the two episodes were reviewed for content by different people? Maybe being destroyed by a UFO is unacceptable but being set on fire by a kaiju is A-OK?

Just wild that Tracy Butler's been doing this for near twenty years and is not only still going but pushing to an animated version, entirely bereft of the support of any mainstream publisher or studio for that entire time. Living the true indie dream while marching through ultimate indie hell in a way very few creators ever manage to do.

With the previous talk of it being a "reimagining" I wasn't expecting them to pick up from TOS' cliffhanger ending, but I suppose the Venn diagram of people who are excited about a new Clone High series and people who would be mad if they didn't address that is a circle.

Plus, this way they don't have to change the lyrics to the theme song.

New voice for Cleo, which is unsurprising, though apparently Christa Miller's still in the cast somewhere.

I wonder if we'll get any acknowledgement that Gandhi ever existed or if they'll just never mention him again.

The pilot leaked a while back -- I haven't sought it out, but word on the street was that it was solid but made some questionable jokes about cancel culture people felt iffy about, and does address Gandhi (they miss him while unfreezing everyone else).

Fired up the first episode of Captain N on a whim. Did not realize how much of the Beast Wars cast was on that show.

Has anybody ever attempted a Smash Bros hack that replaced Mega Man, Pit, and Simon with the ridiculous off-model Captain N versions? Because I just realized how badly I want that. Hell, throw in the Mario and Zelda characters, the Adventures Of version of Sonic, do a whole DiC Expanded Universe thing.

I think I just watched an episode where Eggplant Wizard says "You just need some lubrication" and King Hippo says "I'll toss your salad" but I can't rule out the possibility that I hallucinated it?

In fact "I can't rule out the possibility that I hallucinated it" is kind of how I always feel after watching an episode of Captain N.

(also this episode would have us believe that Kevin was playing The Adventures of Bayou Billy when he was warped into Videoland, even though this and every other episode clearly show him playing Punch-Out!! when he's warped into Videoland)
