I was delayed on the way home from my parents' place yesterday and stopped in a tabletop/card games/comics/toy store yesterday. They were playing the Starcraft soundtrack.

I'm not entirely sure what the guy who uploaded this did (I think a treble boost on a crap quality sound file? I dunno, I'm bad at figuring that sort of thing out), but it unintentionally made the song awesome by bringing out the horns more, especially the trumpet. Edwin's voice is muddier, but that actually makes the instrumentals more prominent. The guitar is more ragged and distorted too and you can also here more of the faint secondary brass. So despite the crappy quality, this copy is punchier maybe even sounds better than the usual version you hear.

Why not the Frankie Goes to Hollywood version?

For alternates, I prefer the Temptations version (which is actually the original version), with Melvin pounding out marching orders. But even though I'm a blatantly shameless Norman Whitfield/Temptations fan, I still think Starr's version is obviously better.
