Akiba Maid War is a delightfully absurd blend of gut-splattering violence and black humour. Highly recommended.

The climax of the first episode is one of the protagonists brutally murdering dozens of maids from a rival café, choreographed like a splashy musical number. Video included below for reference.

Akiba Maid War was very fun for at least a few episodes. The first is a highlight because if you skip the OP it doesn't really play its hand until the last few minutes.

Unfortunately I kind of fell off around the half-way point when they finished establishing the world and characters and it was basically just a generic yakuza story, but maids.

I enjoyed Akiba Maid Wars. The thing where it's doing a send-up of a different anime genre every episode is pretty great. When it first got to being a generic yakuza story, I found myself choking up at a character death, and then had to laugh at the fact that I was choking up over a story where costumed waitresses dual-wield uzis.

I particularly enjoyed the episode that immediately followed, where whats-her-name (normally the primary POV character) gets fed up at the violence and death and fucks off to become Vash the Stampede[Ninja[Maid]]

Apothecary Diaries is pretty neat. It's about this girl who gets kidnapped and sold to the palace in medieval China. She's actually a genius with herbs, poisons, and remedies (she's especially obsessed with poison), and she gets to use her knowledge to solve mysteries, all whilst navigating the politics of palace life. It's a very engaging show!

There are two kinds of people in this world: people who enjoy Delicious in Dungeon, and the dead

Also, the OP and ED are great songs in their own right

Yeah I've slowly been working my way through the manga, reading a couple of chapters every so often, and it is just cozy and well written and fantastic.

Also I am unsure why anyone ever continued to play the "that would make a great band name" game when Bump of Chicken has been around for three decades.

I've been enjoying the manga too, every time I finish a volume I'll give it to my teenage nephew, for whom this is his first series. That kid loves him some Delicious in Dungeon.

This anime looks so trash that it could be below the tier of Friday watchability, but it has a good song!

(I've been playing Bandori because it's the only damn rhythm game that will still run on my potatophone).

Shame that the second Dungeon Meshi OP isn't on the same level as the first. The ED is pretty good, though. Seeing those little character moments is my favourite part.

Also, the band's official music video for the second Dungeon Meshi ED is a Farcille AMV and I love it.

spoilers, btw
